What is a/the 'ZEPPO'

I just saw one of my favorite Buffy epsisodes the Xander-centered 'Zeppo'. Curious as to what exactly a Zeppo is or means i looked it up. Oh...but my labour bore no fruit and i beseech you fireflyers to share you knowledge and let me know.

"Zeppo" Marx, was the youngest of the five Marx Brothers. Zeppo was considered the least memorable/useful of the comedy troupe, having always been in the shadow of his more famous brothers Harpo, Chico and Groucho.
Basically, when Cordy calls Xander the Zeppo of the Scooby gang, she's saying he's a less the integral part of the crew. Of course, his little adventure in that episode proves otherwise.
