I'm getting ready to start Season 2. Think I can do it? I'm avoiding extras this time, but I'm still having my doubts.

Don't see why ya couldn't do it. I HAD to see view the extras and the commentary versions. I knew that by renting the whole 7 seasons, I'd not have a better chance than the present to absorb all things 'Buffy'.
But other than a bit of Andrew and Buffy in Italy when watching ANGEL, I'm not sure I want to visit S8 via the comics. I did that w/ FIREFLY, and it just didn't WOW me. I mainly got the books for momento's sake, not so much the 'story' part.
Keep us posted!
People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

When ya get to it, or if anyone else can tell me...what's the deal w/ the amulet that is sent to Sunnydale and ends up w/ Spike? It seems to cross shows so much, i forget where it came from 1st, and it's significance. I mean, I know Spike ends up with it and what follows Buffy , but what is the history ?

Lilah gives it to Angel in "Home" (AtS S4,ep22), along with the folder about the happenings in Sunnydale, telling him it's crucial to some 'final battle' happening up there. (This is its first appearance, and even the first mention of it.)
Angel tells Buffy at the beginning of "Chosen" (BtVS S7,ep22) that he intends to wear it. She tells him she wants him out of town, so he gives it to her, and she gives it to Spike. Spike goes up in a pillar of molten hellfire, and his essence is trapped inside.
Angel opens an envelope at the end of "Conviction" (AtS S5, ep1), which the amulet falls out of, and Ghost-Spike materializes from.
There's then some more talk in the early eps of AtS S5 about the amulet, who it was really intended for, and whether or not the Senior Partner (or someone else?) actually intended for Angel to be the one ghostified or not. Much like the nonsensical arc of S4, the Lindsey-Eve arc of S5 never makes much sense, either, and I don't think a good, definite answer was ever given about who really intended what with the amulet...

Getting ready to watch "Ted" (after General Hospital). Don't know, kind of nervous that I'm not gonna make it. Hoping to have at least entire rest of Season 2 completed by Sunday mid-afternoon (off work till Mon. Got to get to sleep early on Sun. afternoon for going into work that night.)
About the amulet thing, I had a fairly strong opinion of who it was intended for during the airing of that season. That changed when I rewatched the eps. later on DVD. Saw things that I missed or didn't connect.
Yet somehow I have no idea what any of it was. I'm drawing a complete blank, possibly due to stress.

I started watching Buffy again myself (gotta love the computer DVD players at school). I haven't been watching everything straight through, just the episodes I really liked. So far, I've watched The Pack, Angel, Nightmares, Prophecy Girl, and Becoming Part 1 & 2.
It's really amazing the things you pick up on when you re-watch old shows. There's so many things I missed the first time around. And better yet, this gives me even more incentive to get to school.

Currently on "I Only Have Eyes For You", pretty sure I'll get Season 2 done by tonight sometime. Hopefully will be starting Season 3 by later tonight or tomorrow morning. Still nervous, but feeling better about it.
Just read the interview with Joss at GeekMonthly.com (I waited to read the whole thing until final part was up) about the comics. Giggled like I was 14 again, so in other words, I completely dorked out. The new so-called "message" of the series is classic Joss. Love him so! Can't wait to visit these characters again!

I'd forgotten about that line in "Go Fish" where Buffy is confronted by Gage (Wentworth Miller) about following him around and she does this whole thing where she's pretending to be a swim team groupie and she says something like "There's something about the smell of chlorine on a guy...OH BABY." Both the line delivery, which made it very obvious she was lying (badly), and his facial expression because he knew it was a lie, just cracks me up.

She was lying ? *pout* As a former HS and college swimmer, I just took it on face value she was hot for swimmers. Remember when Cordy was all gah-gah in seeing Xander in his Speedo ?
Another fantasy shot to hell. *sigh*
