Is it just me or did the end of X-Men 3 end like the 6th season of Buffy?

What I mean by this is that in the end of X-Men 3 Wolverine had to stop that one woman who was at a level 6 or something in power. He marches towards her while she's gearing up to take over or destroy the whole world. Her powers are so intense that she can be easily called a dark goddess. Wolverine approaches her and she tries to hurt him but because wolverine has rapid healing capabilities he keeps on coming. She tries to kill him even though he marches up to her. He makes it to her and tell her that he loves her and then kills her.

The same scene happens in season Six with Dark Willow and Xander. Willow is all juiced up with dark powers and she is determined to destroy the whole world. Xander is standing right there waiting for her while she attempts to energize some ancient temple that will enable her to destroy the planet. Xander begins to walk towards her while saying to her that he loves her. Of course Willow delivers some pain to him,, but Xander keeps walking towards her taking all the pain she can deliver to him until he reaches her and her powers start to fail.

It’s the same scene except for the nasty fact that Wolverine ends up killing that level 6 woman, and Willows powers fade and she ends up crying in Xander’s arms.

Did anyone else notice this or am I just crazy and it’s time for the bone yard for one such as myself?

No, it isn't just you. The endings are somewhat similar. Of course, Xander and Willow are waaay cooler than Wolverine and Jean (then again, that goes without saying )

I hadn't thought about that before, but yea you're right, it's like exactly the same, except that one was good and one was crap lol. Obviously I'm referring to Buffy as being the good one. Yea...xmen 3....i like to pretend that never happened lol, that was a terrible movie.

"Haha, mine is an evil laugh."

I didn't think X3 was terrible, just that they should have paid Joss for ripping off his work.

Both endings are major cop outs since I've never been a fan of the "love conquers all" bit. How cool would it have been if the series had ended with Willow destroying the world? As far as X3 goes I would have thorougly enjoyed seeing Dark Phoenix strip the flesh from Wolverine's bones.
