Oh, wow. What a fun thread.

The first CD I remember getting was "My Reflection" by Christina Aguliera. Still got it. I can't take most of the songs anymore, though. I STILL jam to "Reflection", though. That's a pretty song. Made me want to be a singer. Sadly, nature said otherwise.

First cassette was "Crazy Sexy Cool" by TLC. I was too poor and too young to get that CD.

I'm standing up proud behind my collection. I bought the CD for Aladdin last year and the clerk questioned me about who it was for. I proudly replied me.

I love my Disney movies.

I bought "Brothers in Arms" by Dire Straits. Then I bought it again on cassette. Then I bought it again on cd. That cd got messed up and I bought it again. Currently it is old and scratched, and I'll probably buy it again.

I also have all of Mark Knopflers solo stuff, as well as Dire Straits. I love it!

From my screen name, you can probably tell I'm a big Eric Clapton fan. I've been playing guitar for around 12 years now, and I'm in two bands.

I listen to a lot of new stuff, but I still love my Dire Straits!!!

My first album purchased was "Pyromania" by Def Leppard. My first CD was "Operation:Mindcrime" by Queensryche, followed shortly thereafter by the purchase of "Empire" by Queensryche.

Dude,

Empire and Operation:Mind crime are two of the best albums on this or any other planet! Geoff Tate and Chris DeGarmo rule. "Anybody Listening" is my favorite song.

{{{SOB!}}} oh, man, you guys are making me cry...this thread is making me feel SO old, especially after passing yet another birthday this week...

Ok, I really don't remember exactly what single I bought first, as my mother and aunts usually bought them for me, but I did have "Snoopy & the Red Baron" and "Convoy" in my collection too (as well as "Baby Elephant Walk" and "Telstar - The Lonely Bull")...I think the first album I bought for myself was Paul McCartney's "Ram" (because it had "Uncle Albert" on it). I think I was in Junior High then, somewhere about 1974ish...wow, where did the time go...

OH! Here's a trivia question for you all...The band that recorded "Convoy" (and some other really nice songs, believe it or not!) was called "C.W. McCall"....some of the members of that band have continued through to today as a new band that has been performing under their current name since the late 70's, but they're known for an entirely different type of music now....anyone want to guess what "C.W. McCall" evolved to???

The first single I owned was a gift from my father: T for Texas by Grandpa Jones. The first LP, also a gift from dad, was the Singing Nun album.

First LP I bought was Meet the Beatles when it first came out.

The first song I bought was a 45 record (that's a round vinyl thing with grooves!) and the song was 'Brandy you're a Fine Girl' by Looking Glass.

I got rid of all my records a while back except for some imported Beatles albums.
