6 degrees of Firefly/Serenity game?

Do we like trivia games on this board? I don't remember.
Connect 2 actors in 6 links or less.
Solver gets to name the next challenge.
Must use films to connect. Sole exception for TV shows is Firefly.
If actors are directly connected through Firefly/Serenity, at least one connection must be outside of these.
Actors shall have actually appeared in the film, so Alan in I, Robot would not count, nor Tim Allen or Tom Hanks in Toy Story.
If no valid answer after 3 days, the proposer may post the solution, and post the next challenge.
Preferably one of the actors will have some connection to Firefly/Serenity, or at least Whedon or alumni. If using only Firefly as the sole TV connector becomes too restrictive, future games may include other Whedon shows: Buffy, Angel, SHIELD, Dollhouse.
Example: Nathan to Adam Baldwin
1. Nathan and Barry Pepper in Saving Private Ryan.
2. Barry and Graham Greene in The Green Mile.
3. Graham and Mary McDonnell in Dances With Wolves.
4. Mary and Adam in Independence Day.

Recently I saw Missi Pyle guesting on L&O:SVU, which was once a series where Christopher Meloni starred.
Connecting these two would be quite easy (Meloni, Willis, Rickman, Pyle or Meloni, Morse, Nicholson, Pyle) but if we require the solution to use an actor from the Firefly/Serenity rolls, it can add a degree or 2.
