There were a number of intelligent responses to that post, including the comment that ONE MAN'S understanding does not represent " the truth", that moderate and radical Islam do not have much to do with each other, and that the violence in the Mideast is a result of a number of factors including sectarian (ie related to sects within a religion) violence, the struggle over resources, and the presence of greater powers who are arming the various factions as proxies. I would also add that Saudi Arabia (and to a less extent Qatar) has been funding and arming radical Islam for decades thru al Qaida and the Muslim Brotherhood respectively, with the approval and connivance of Israel and the USA. However, since you haven't responded intelligently to even ONE of these comments (and disavowing your agreement by whinging that it wasn't ME who used that word doesn't count as an intelligent response, just a cowardly one) I would say it's all pearls before swine.

However, if you would choose to have an INTELLIGENT discussion about this .... by, for example, citing polls which show that most Muslims agree with your author ... then you would change my mind. Maybe about the topic, and definitely about you.

You need a poll to help you figure this stuff out ? Really?

I guess if you assume the ones doing the polling are doing so from a position of unbiased and honest intent, and the ones taking the polls answer honestly and w/ out any fear of retribution , which I am guessing is a bit of a fairy tale scenario.

Those inside a cult usually don't admit they're inside a cult, or that their views are shaped by how they were brought up.

Know them for what they do, not what they say.

No, YOU need a poll to show us than ONE MAN'S viewpoint (the one you quoted) is relevant to what MOST MUSLIMS think.

Or, you can respond intelligently to ANY ONE of the OTHER points that have been made on the topic. What I gave you was just an example (note that I said it was an example earlier) of what an intelligent response might consist of.

All you're doing is proving once again that you either have no idea what a "intelligent discussion" is, or you don't care to engage in one.
