He's been on a razor's edge for quite a spell now. I think the David Carradine mention, though innocuous, was a gut punch for him.

Well, a loss like this is a gut punch. More so when the one who dies takes their own life. We feel sad & cheated at the same time. As though something personal was taken from us, and we can never get it back.

I expect that the cancellation of "The Crazy Ones" probably had something to do with it. We enjoyed the hell out of that show, and never could figure out why it didn't develop a following. Probably because it was not as mean-spirited as many of the 'comedy' shows today.
