I was a bit iffy on this one, even though it had a great cast, and direct tie ins to The Avengers. I may actually go see it opening weekend !

You know something Rappy, this could be the closest we get to Serenity 2. I get that vibe from the trailers, so it doesn't surprise me that it's gotten positive reviews. I'll be front row, center!

My Jedi sense is tingling!

Wait..........I may have mixed my superheroes.

SGG

Already have my tickets for Thursday night. They had me with the first trailer. Looks funny and just the right tone for a movie with a talking raccoon.

Isn't that raccoon limitless?

Alexis Denisof is in it, and so is Karen Gillan - aka Amy Pond, from Dr Who.

My review: Good. Not great. I enjoyed it but I don't feel like I ever need to see it again. The humor is the best part IMO, but I don't think it will have the same impact a second time. I will definitely go see a sequel.

Been giggling giddily ever since the movie let out.
BELIEVE THE HYPE, people!
Just about the most perfect filmgoing experience I've had in years.

Last time I felt like this about a movie was walking home from The Matrix, where I'd been first in line at Grauman's Chinese on opening day.

I plan on seeing this thing several more times.

But I remember when this film was first announced in 2012, and I checked out the comics, and thinking, "The raccoon and the tree are gonna be problems."
Well, they weren't.
They were perfect.

I concur. I was real leery on the talking racoon. My worst fear was going to see the movie and there being a host of kiddies in the audience, eager to see a talking rodent, ala Splinter. Thankfully this was not the case, on either account!

Very good flick, though I'd not call it 'great'. Comparable to The Avengers. Some have liked it more, I wasn't quite as sold, but there was some freaking deadly humor. Almost lost my breath a time or two... very good stuff.

Minor bummer - I didn't recognize Nathan F or Alexis Denisof, as they were deep in make up / cgi. Oh well.

This movie was a mess. A big hot mess. Still, I enjoyed it because I'm a big sci-if geek and it was pretty (rodent and tree were indeed excellent, as were all the effects and make-up.) It was funny and I was entertained through out. I had a good time watching this movie. Really glad I went to see it.

But it was still a huge mess. Absolutely nothing of substance, nothing to bring my attention back in the long run. At least, not until I see how it ties into the rest of the marvel-verse, which I'm pretty sure it will. Maybe then I'll need a second look.

I do enjoy that this is 100% geeky stuff that no one would have copped to enjoying, or even watching, in my younger days. And yet now all this sci-fi gibberish will pull a decent audience and make plenty of money. The geeks have won. The mainstream has bought into the entertaining possibilities of sci-fi fluffy silliness. I can't help but be pleased at all that.

My summation:I enjoyed this movie, but I have no need to see it again.

Edge of Tomorrow was so much better.

Lucy. :/ so so.
