Looking for recommended fanfic featuring the Battle of Serenity Valley

Hey! I've got a fic in the works set at Serenity Valley during the earlier stages of the battle, and I've been reading American Civil War fiction and "All Quiet on the Western Front" for inspiration.

I'd really appreciate any fanfic recs you all might have. Cofax's "Cradle Elbows Wide" was something shared with me several years ago, and that one absolutely rocked my world (and my fundamental understanding of the 'Verse).

Hmm. Can't recall any specifically focusing on Serenity Valley, but I know there's a bunch out there.

Only thing I know is that I've heard some of the (semi?) official maps of the battlefield (I think maybe copies of some of the ones Mal has hanging in his bunk) also suggested that there was a Blue Sun facility ominously nearby.

Oh yeah! That's in the QMx trade route publication, I think. Or the Blueprints book -- one of those two. It's a lovely map.

I LOVE looking at canon and fanon reference materials like that, because you never know what sparks it'll inspire. For the Jin Dui's purposes, we seized on the bit on that map that there was a Companion Hall on top of the evocatively named Whore Mountain. We're speculatin' that the guild hall was requisitioned by the Independents as a field hospital... but that the field hospital promptly got blown to gorram bits when the Alliance began to really commit to the engagement.
