No I didn’t. I just did not choose to complicate the issue by stating nonsense. When I first suggested I walk in the middle of the road, it was easy to determine what my intent was because of the post I was responding to. It should have been easy for the reader to follow my metaphor to its logical conclusion. The gibberish you applied to it is what’s clouding your mind. Free yourself of all that and stop trying to apply metaphors to my metaphor. Look at what you posted in response to my middle of the road comment. It was all based on me not understanding what my statement implied. That’s pretty funny or a bit arrogant, take your pick.
I dont see what Signy is saying here to be gibberish. I understood her point to be about where the middle of the road is....it depends of the middle of what. I give you a concrete example. In America, centre of politics is considered right of centre by European/Australian standards. That is because the political spectrum has swung to the right over the past 20 or so years. It may swing back the other way, and then the 'centre' might be more left. It all depends on what you compare it to.
I see people who say they walk the middle ground are often just trying to keep the peace. Maybe that's fair enough, I've certainly done it on occasion. But walking the middle ground can also mean collusion with the current system. Also could be okay if your current system is not corrupt, violent, and riddled with inequality.
Most ideas for change are considered dangerous at one time or another. The thought that women might be able to vote (let alone hold a political office) was once considered extreme. If you sat in the middle on this issue, as many people did, women would never have been able to vote.

Welcome to the Fireflyfans RWED board. The trial by fire is currently in progress. :P
(Yes, ah, they have a tendency to get... passionate around here. Which sometimes seems bellicose)

So, nothing to do with this recent conversation - but on topic - I mentioned in another thread a while ago how I ran an experiment for myself and decided to troll. For me that means posting things I KNOW aren't true, just to wind people up, then snarking and running.
I think I got two (maybe three) posts out before the stench in my mind was so awful I couldn't take it anymore. And it took weeks to disappear entirely. It was my way to understand what the feeling is that goes with trolling. And I agree with all of the above - Narcissistic, Machiavellian, psychopathic, and sadistic.
And last week some of the people at work - far more savvy about the internet than I - pegged rappy as a troll within 3 seconds. And basically instantly dismissed him with a shrug as if to say - why would you waste your time on that? Isn't there something more productive you'd rather do?
So, trolling - an interesting topic.
OONJERAH - We are too dumb to live and smart enough to wipe ourselves out.
"You, who live in any kind of comfort or convenience, do not know how these people can survive these things, do you? They will endure because there is no immediate escape from endurance. Some will die, the rest must live."

It is my middle of the road not Signyms’. I used it in a context that was very simple and easy to follow. If Signym wants to express how she may be confused, by suggesting each judgment has a middle different and separate from the next. Which means first understanding how to determine each new set of parameters to make it possible to find the new middle, that is all well and good. It’s just that it has nothing to do with what I was saying. The only reason to quote me, was to use me to present one of her new side shows. To highlight her, what do you call it, ah geez I can’t quite think of the word, oh yeah, her Intellect.
By including me in her gibberish she suggested that I needed a lesson in finding or expressing what the middle of the road meant by offering up that lesson. Which by the way included Nazis and Jews. To which I say, after being prodded several times now, what is she nuts? How incentive is she to use as an example the holocaust in lecturing me about a two line statement I made on this silly ass thread.
“All this is why it is better to walk in the middle of the road. Be your own person “. Or about the far right and far left being problematic.
Are you kidding me, Nazis and Jews? Don’t you find this, oh I don’t know, geez I just can’t, oh yeah bellicose and insensitive?
To add to the insult she proceed to present her list of how to become a better person furthering my education. Because of course I would not have learned those most basic of manners in my humble upbringing:
“1) Decide your ethics. What is right? What is wrong? Why? That might take ten years, but will give you your compass.
2) Look around you at the real world, without the filter of desire or fear. That will show you the obstacles”.
The context I used the statement, the middle of the road in was not to be extreme and or inflexible. It is very simple and not deserving of all this attention unless your motives for doing so lie elsewhere.
OK
Er...perhaps it might be more accurate to describe Signy's 'middle of the road' as being subjective, rather than gibberish. She actually makes sense, it's just that you disagree with her premise.
Also I believe Nazis were used as an example, rather than as an insult to you. I made a similar point. To demonstrate how 'middle of the road' can be collusion, if it occurs in a context of extremes.
I'd probably add that 'be your own person' is a weak point. What does it mean exactly? All of us are influenced by our upbringing, our education, the dominant values of the culture we live in. Is it 'being your own person' when you disagree or question the values of where you live? Isn't that what home grown terrorists do? Wasn't Anders Brevik 'being his own person' when he rejected the liberal values of Norway and murdered scores of youngsters who attended a camp for those of left winged political persuasion?
