I quite liked the X-Men cartoon, and does anyone remember Batfink?
Of course, Dangermouse and Count Duckula were up there too.

COMPLETELY forgot about danger mouse! he was the best! penfold too! i remember the villan being a toad, but i cannot remember his name! i remember his pet, though. nero the caterpillar. :) what was danger mouse's boss' name? i remember he looked like a beaver or woodchuck or something. i also remember these little cartoon shorts that were shown right before danger mouse called bananaman. OUTRAGEOUSLY FUNNY! i loved that too, mainly because the hero (bananaman himself!) had the same name as me.

kind of made me feel special.

the baddy was baron greenback with his hench crow stiletto and dm's boss was colonel k.

glad to see batfink get a mention too, i was about to add him.

transformers. always my fave (hence my big toy collection i've amassed as an (alleged) adult)
mask. dodgy kinda transformers rip off, but in a subtle way, was kinda fun
the centurions. power extreme :) i wanted to be the flying guy
spiderman and his amazing friends. mmmm, firestar.
starfleet. jap puppet space opera with mecha, great then, still great now. involving story arcs and everything.

i never saw much of robotech as a kid, don't think they pushed it over here in blighty like they seemed to in the states, but i've recently watched (quite) a few episodes on suprnova and loved it lots and finally found somewhere to pick up the dvds to finish watching my way through the macross saga. and as a transfan it's great to see all those jetfires around :) seriously though, it's good to see a long involved storyline with some real character progression rather than a bunch of disconnected storylines, kill off a load of characters, bring in a load of new characters and their toys to flog. yes transformers the movie, i'm looking at you. i love you, but you're guilty as hell.

If we get away from Saturday Morning shows, I thought of a few more I used to love:

The Ray Rayner show and the Banana Splits

Later on, the Muppet Show (also *had* to watch Sesame Street every day, any time it came on)

What about Gummi Bears?

That show was great, and Im quite suprised no one else has mentioned it.

Also Captain Caveman..........and the thundercats.

They didnt call it the dark ages because it was dark.

how could i forget that?! have to amend my list. TMNT was great! i thought the show had a great mix of action and humor. i do not remember most of the episodes, but i remember one when kang gets his "hands" on some kind of new robot thingy and he goes around terrorizing everyone (of course) and when he first gets the robot, he says something like "there's nothing like the smell of a new robot interior". you have to admit, to a 10 year old, that is pretty funny. i especially liked the episode when michaelangelo and shredder switch bodies. HI-larious!

"Bananaman" was actually written and voiced by the guys behind "The Goodies" if I remember rightly. Gawd, I loved the Goodies too! I remember the giant kitten toppling the tower very vividly...

I remember Pirates of Dark Water, The Gummy Bears, Bananaman. The list goes on...

The cartoons/shows I loved to watch included:

* Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles.
* Trap Door
* The X-Men cartoon
* Samurai Pizza Cats
* Sharky & George (the crime busters of the sea! )
* Ghostbusters
* Tom & Jerry
* Thundercats
* Jace and the Wheeled Warriors
* Bill and Ted cartoon
* Round the twist (An Australian kids drama that dealt with weird stuff that happened to a family living in a lighthouse. Genius!)
* Eerie Indiana
* Saved by the bell (Cannot beat the original series)

I can't think of any more at the moment..

i miss bananaman. the episodes were so short, though. only a few minutes and only if danger mouse had a particularly short episode. go here for a pic:
