Good news! Today Dad is sitting up, eating solid food and apologizing to the nurses he yelled at when he thought he was being held prisoner in his brother's house. Ah, anesthesia, gotta love it. The confusion started to abate yesterday, but he had to stay in ICU one more night. Today he'll hopefully be moved to a regular room, provided one opens up. It being a weekend and a holiday, we'll see how fast that happens.

UPDATE
Dad went home on Saturday *monkey chair dance of joy* The most recent report states that he is adjusting to his required three weeks of inactivity... not well, but he's adjusting. He doesn't remember the two and a half days that he was out of his head, and that's just as well. He wouldn't want to remember how disoriented and childish he was, thanks to the evils of anesthesia.
I want to give another hearty THANK YOU and blessings on everyone who comforted me in my time of need. As I've said before, I believe these threads are as effective as any prayer chain, and they are a deep comfort. It's good to know when you're not alone.
