The Drudge Report is claiming christopher Reeve has died!

Nikki Finke in Los Angeles is reporting that actor Christopher Reeve is dead, according to sources close to the actor. He died suddenly Sunday. News of his death has not been reported publicly yet. His family will make an announcement Monday at the earliest. Reeve was just mentioned Friday in the second live presidential debate by John Kerry. Noting he was a friend of the paralysed Reeve, Kerry said he was in favor of further stem cell research because Reeve could walk again one day thanks to such science.... MORE...

I'm so very heartbroken to hear this news. I always imagined a day when Christopher Reeve would walk again... because if anyone could come back after such an injury, it would be he.

He endured so much and had such a strong spirit. Even though he is no longer with us in person, his presence will keep being felt.

From what I have read about him, Christopher Reeve was politically active in high school, protesting the Vietnam War then went to Cornell and became involved in environmental issues as well. As an adult, he has championed First Amendment issues and funding for the arts, and is active in Amnesty International, Save the Children, The National Resources Defense Council, The Lindbergh Foundation and others

Reeve was wonderfully active in groups like save the children he was a fantastic actor and filled the starring role of 'Superman' , I think his best film may have been Superman-2 but he also starred in other good movies like Village of the Damned , Speechless and Above Suspicion

First Rodney Dangerfield, now Christopher Reeve. It's been a sad week for entertainment. I was always looking forward to when Reev would walk again. He seemed so certain that he could do it.

You know I only caught Christopher Reeves name on the news this morning, but part of me just knew it would be news that he was making progress toward walking again. I never dreamed it would be such tragic news as his death.
