Just a dumb question...
You have these debates to judge these yokels performance to be your leader right ?
Wouldn't this be considered cheating ?
But really, shouldn't this disqualify Bush ?

Didn't this already happen to you in a previous election ?

Is the wire helping him out ?
here's a quote from blogs with a good little clip of the Bush Kerry debate
Quote:
Credible news organizations have taken a serious look at that and decided not to run the story," said Bush campaign spokesman Scott Stanzel. "People have been spending too much time dealing with Internet conspiracies. It's ridiculous."
Still, the bulge drew the attention on Saturday of respected mainstream dailies The New York Times and The Washington Post.
"The Mystery of the Bulge in the Jacket," was the headline on the brief Times item which accompanied its extensive coverage of Friday's second presidential debate in St Louis, Missouri.
The Post ran a much longer story under the headline: "Bulge Under President's Coat in First Debate Stirs Speculation."
Political web logs, or blogs, have been buzzing about the bulge since the first presidential debate in Miami on Sept 30. The rectangular protrusion in the middle of Bush's back is visible in news photos and television footage
Was Bush being coached during his debate with Kerry?
When I was watching the debate, I remember Bush saying "let me finish", but it went by so quickly I didn't think much about it. Then I saw Jon Stewart's Daily News Show that highlighted it
watched and listened to the entire debate again and I believe somebody was communicating with him. The "let me finish" was the proof positive but I as I watched, I realized that is the reason his speaking patterns are so annoying to me. I noticed that when he is listing items, he gives one, then a long pause
...Bush said: "And that's not how a commander-in-chief acts..." Then he stumbled over himself, sputtering incomprehensible sounds. Then, in an annnoyed tone, he snarled: "Now let me finish!"
Two points about that "Now let me finish!": 1. He seems genuinely irritated, as though someone had just interrupted him. 2. In fact, no-one had interrupted him.
Was he addressing Jim Lehrer? No, because the odd interjection came long before the flashing lights warned that his 90 seconds were up. Neither Lehrer nor Kerry had attempted to jump in. Bush's expression of irritation appears to have been directed at someone speaking to him, someone unheard by anyone else in the room.
This theory goes a long ways toward explaining the president's consistently odd speech patterns -- the cavernous pauses punctuating sharp volleys of sound.
It should be noted that this is not the first time sharp observers have found reason to accuse Bush of using an earpiece
During the Presidential Debate Bush made what may be his most costly error- he exposed that he’s using an earpiece to help him answer debate questions. In the middle of an answer bush said, "now let me finish" as if someone was interrupting him - yet nobody did - he was talking to the person in his earpiece.
The ’let me finish’ quip was clearly bush talking to someone (probably Rove) in his earpiece- saying ’let me finish’ (before you give me the next answer). He blows it 60 seconds into his 90 second reply- so no warning lights had gone off and the moderator had not motioned for him to end as there was plenty of time left.
. Here's a small clip from the Bush / Kerry debate.
As you can see from the video clip the wire / wrinkle has been
Good for Bush

The debates were a good way to see what each of them had thought about the next few months, what had gone before and the future. Bush made a big mess of the first debate and polls have put Kerry ahead since.

It's called a SPINE!!!
Object Under Bush Jacket Identified: 'It's a Spine'
(2004-10-11) -- A forensic scientist studying photographic evidence has identified an object which caused a bump on the back of a suit jacket worn by President George Bush during his first debate with John Forbes Kerry.
"It's a spine," said the unnamed scientist. "The president's backbone, in a sense, was showing during his debate with Mr. Kerry."
Similar images of Mr. Kerry showed "no comparable spinal features."
When asked about the new evidence, Mr. Kerry said, "I had a spine when I defended this country as a young man, and I will have one again when I defend her as president of the United States."

I know exactly what it is. It is a small parachute. You know the ones that people were selling so that you could escape a high rise building during a terrorist attack. As we all know, we are going to be attacked again and soon. Unfortunately, the President didn't understand why it wouldn't work in a two story building. Hope this clears up any confusion.

Actually, I remember seeing this kind of speech pattern during (I think) the debate with Gore. Bush would get this "deer-in-the-headlights" look and pause for a disconcerting time. I wondered that nobody else seemed to notice. It just seemed to me that Bush was attentive to somehting else for several seconds- like he was waiting for the answer. I guess he was!

The Mystery of the Bulge in the Jacket
By ELISABETH BUMILLER
WASHINGTON, Oct. 8 - What was that bulge in the back of President Bush's suit jacket at the presidential debate in Miami last week?...
...Nor was the bulge from a bulletproof vest, according to campaign and White House officials; they said Mr. Bush was not wearing one.
I'm still betting on body armor, regardless of what the campaign and White House officials say. I doubt that the Secret Service is going to allow them to give out any information on the President's security, and probably told them to flat deny it. The campaign wouldn't want to admit it anyway, even if it is a regular precaution.

I've seen bullet-proof vests under clothes and they don't look like that. They just make the person wearing them look... uh... thick. There is no purpose to a "box" between the shoulder blades.

Well then, where else do they put the batteries that make him walk and talk like a real boy?
