Someone who wants a kinder, gentler capitalism. (So that capitalism will survive indefinitely.) Wow, that was easy!
What's yours?

SO you're not a liberal, then.

In 1999, Weinstein and his brother were parodied as the Rothsteins in Action - Episode 13 - "Last Ride of The Elephant Princess". Watch vulgar, gluttonous slobs ruling over Hollywood, starting at 2:30

It doesn't have one definition. Liberal is more like a swear word in the Tea Party. For them, Liberal equals Libertine, one devoid of most moral restraints, which are seen as unnecessary or undesirable, especially one who ignores or even spurns accepted morals.

No... I mean..... SERIOUSLY guys and gals.....
Harvey Weinstein is so above politics.
He wouldn't even piss on this conversation if it were on fire and spreading to the drapes in his guest house. Tomorrow morning, he'd call the cops and his insurance guy, make or break a few more young people between lunches, and just pretty much be awesomely untouchable until it was repaired for free.
If you want to talk about a Fat Liberal Hollywood DBag, keep it in Michael Moore territory. Mike won't hate you for it. In fact, Mikey likes it. He signed up for that public abuse and got a fat paycheck for it. Any righty or lefty that considered HW a Liberal is ill-informed. He's not Conservative either.
For somebody in his position, making a choice between Right and Left is a foreign concept. It's not that they aren't aware of A and B, but they just don't pertain..... Kind of like Love and Hate, Pain and Pleasure and Right and Wrong.
There SERIOUSLY is such thing as TOO RICH.
The "richer" you get, the more easily detached you are from things you should care about like family and friends. I'm sure he has a thousand friends, each with 100 more friends too. One friend for every 10k of his net-worth. Everyone is your friend when you're always throwing parties with an open bar. Try to stop this phone from ringing!
I don't even know the guy, or much about him, but I funded a two year party at my first apartment and "on the road" working a job, naively unaware that I was around some very rich older guys and saw what they did when they thought nobody was watching. These were great guys, as far as I was concerned. I was paid well and had health benefits and got a free lunch 2 days out of 5 at least.
I still don't know what really happened, or who said what about who. I didn't read it. It broke my heart to see it happen personally. To watch guys I believed were best friends wear wires and shit on each other. I just skimmed headlines and saw names of people I'd shook hands with.
Fucking sick. I've washed my hands 3,000 times since those days but I'll never wash that filth off.
It's not their "evil deeds" I'm talking about. Like I said, I didn't read the paper. It's knowing that I had trust in rats.
They all paid the time. Reading the paper was like reading a list of the 30 or so people I ever met in my life who wore a suit everyday.
People who I knew were lifetime friends..... reduced to freakin dominoes falling over each other.
SPOILER ALERT:
We're all fucking rats, given the right motivation. We can even find a way to rationalize our betrayal all away. If you haven't already lived out one or both sides of it, it's the end of Orwell's 1984.
My advice to people is DON'T get rich.
The older I get the more I realize this to be the secret of life.
No rich family ever grew up close.
It's easy for some kid to tell his brother to F-OFF for life when he's living on a trust fund and going to college for free. It's not so easy to tell your sister to STFU when she's helping pay the bills.
My somewhat-well-off family is splintered in a million pieces. It wasn't like that when I was 3 or 4. Even my parents were still married. Everyone was still married, and we had huge family parties every year. Decades later, my holidays are usually spent with the "forks" of my immediate family.
At the same time, my poor family roots never splintered off like that. Sure, they were never as motivated about anything, nor were ever as tight with each other, but after all of their arguments they would always lend each other a hand if asked. Not one single person on that side of the family EVER missed a funeral/wake for any reason.
Bottom line.....
In my experience, poorer people are more inter-connected people. They m
