I read something disturbing

Hey people.

I hope this is just hype and totally untrue but i thought i best put it to the board to judge for themselves.

I was reading Dream Watch (Movie/TV magazine)today and there was a little article on firefly. I dont have the article here with me (I kinda left it at work ) But when i get it ill quote it.

The article was about the studio executives being very disappointed with the two hour pilot of Firefly, so much so that Joss has offered to write a 1 hour pilot to replace the previous.

Like i said i hope its hog-wash but me cant help feeling that there a chance for it to be true.

I hope you guys know more thanme about this, whether it be fact or fiction. Pleez tell me if you do.

Ill post exactly what the article said when i get it back.

No, you are right. I read the same article. I don't have much hope for the show ...but the new pilot should be okay.

don't stress, i'm sure it'll be fine, just don't get too high expections, otherwise you could be dissapointed if it isn't as great as you want it to be. just think how crappy the second pilot will be because it's only an hour long, and it's technically now the 2nd episode of the series(because they will be showing the original pilot, at a later date), and if you think like that, you should really enjoy the show.

you might even be suprised at how much you enjoyed it.

but seriously, it's JOSS WHEDON!!!!! now his posts on the bronze may have sounded half-drunk, but he's Joss Whedon, and anything he writes is bound to be half-way decent at least. Am i putting too much faith in this man??

I would like another good sci-fi show and will temper my expectations.

Lol..that was him half-drunk? I thought that was his normal personality sneaking in. I kinda liked it.

i don't think he was actually half-drunk (maybe he was, celebrating the end of season?), but it's being speculated that due to his bizarre comments. Strangely enough, when i'm talking to someone, i tend to ramble a bit like he did, but when I post on boards and email people, i tend to edit a lot, so I come out sounding sane. It was kinda comforting to see someone else making a fool of themselves, i know i'm not alone in the world anymore.

I'm pretty sure he was just messing with all the spoiler hounds... and I thought it was hysterical. When I was reading it, I nearly split my side! This is why I'm such a big fan of Joss!

Huh. I thought DA was a fairly lame attempt to rip off Battle Angel Alita. Jessica Alba has the screen presence of a frog. The stories were all recycled conspiracy crap.

Fox is really desparate for shows. They've canceld half their sched. If Dark Angel had any following at all, it would have survived. The connection with Firefly is pure fantasy.

Shows get cancelled. DA was lucky to survive for two whole seasons. If it hadn't had James Cameron behind it, it wouldn't have lasted that long. Trolling all the Firefly sites isn't going to change anything. Grow up and deal with it.
