I liked the movie quite a bit. It was much better than the first IMO. Thor was Thor in this movie. That's what I'm buying a ticket for. It would have helped to flesh out the bad guys a bit more, but all in all it was a good popcorn movie. I didn't have any problem with Natalie Portman's performance. She isn't supposed to be some bubbly free spirit like Darcy. I thought she delivered her one liners just as well as Kat and that she showed plenty of emotion in her more serious scenes.

All in all it was a good movie. Not something I care to see multiple times like the Iron Man films, but good in its own right.

Finally went to see it, and I agree with you and EC. Natalie was somewhat distracted. Kat Dennings is absolutely delicious, and I could have used a bit more of Fandral and Sif. Hiddleston and Hemsworth are also quite good, with Hiddleston stealing just about every scene effortlessly. The great surprise for me was Rene Russo, who looked beautiful by the way. She gave a solid performance in the short screen time she had. And Sir Hopkins, well, he's perfectly cast as Odin.

Absolutely loved the scenes in Asgard, it was just like in the comic books, if not, better.

Yeah I liked it too. Not enough of Zachary Levi though! Kat Dennings' character was fun Hemsworth and Hiddlestone were great and some humour in there that feels very Joss! I know he did some re-writes and I have my suspicions which scenes were his, but I'd like to know for sure.

All in all another thoroughly entertaining Marvel offering.

Yeah stick around until the very end of the credits and the lights come on.

Extermination: Earth honors all superhero movies, but especially Thor - The Dark World at the one minute mark.

they should have called the movie.. "Thor - the Natalie Portman story".
I mean jeeeesh! the woman is a sucky actor to begin with so every scene with her as the focus seems extra long and dry..even hard for the other actors to play off of her.... I don't know of ANY of the other marvel movies that have taken such time and focused so heavily on the hero's heart throbs...maybe the have and it just seems like a lot more cause she is such wasted footage... hang on.. I gotta google the "I hate Natalie facebook page" ....brb...

Kat Dennings had better lines, and basically out shined poor Natalie.

I dunno. If I were Thor, I'd probably give her a second look.

I can't wait to see the show. Like the info in the other posts and will see if they hold up when I see it. I am always late to the dance when it comes to seeing these movies.
