Dear All

I'm very sorry to say that Maribeth, who posted here under the name Embers, passed away on Tuesday after a period of illness. She loved Firefly and Serenity a lot and participated here and on other forums, as well as attending many conventions and producing some beautiful fan art.

I was lucky enough to become friends with her through fireflyfans.net and over the next eight years we'd regularly exchange links to things we found interesting. She loved special occasions and if you were friends with her, you would mostly likely receive her wonderful handmade cards throughout the year. She wrote, drew and sculpted a lot (she sent me a mask one Christmas that still hangs on my living room wall) and was always very encouraging with others about their work.

I was glad to know her, sorry that I didn't get to know her better and will miss her very much.

Rest in Peace, Maribeth. You will be remembered for a long time for your contributions to the fandom.

By now I am sure she has found 11th Hour and they are reminiscing about all the good times on the forums.
