Serenity will fly over cities with millions of people and has a reactor. After a major crash, how did six amateurs and one good mechanic put it back together so that it is not a hazard to people on the ground? With extra help, skilled help. There's a story for the comic.

My friend Aliasse did a beautiful rendition of that idea in a fanfic. Only in that case, Serenity was not recoverable. It was all about the character growth - taking one last thing away from all the characters, and giving them a blank slate to start over with. It was pretty cool, a lot more upbeat than you'd expect.

Gosh, it is exciting that we seem to be getting a bunch of new stuff in 2014. Kinda wish they wouldn't skip years though.

I sincerely hope Dark Horse could spin some comic book tales without falling back on Mal/Zoe/Jayne/Kaylee-get-shot-again like they did in "It's Never Easy" (2012), the last comic. And the Alliance-is-searching-for-River/Simon-hidden-on-Serenity can't be used because the Alliance, slow as it is, finally knows. There needs to be a new reason for the Tams to not jump ship and become land-lubbers. I don't think Simon-luvs-Kaylee is sufficient reason.

I'd like to see a flashback to the Unification War showing what the characters were doing or Mal and the original crew before the Tams and Book came on board or the crew after Serenity movie or all of the above! :)
