JT - that was pretty awesome! I mean, wtf were these idiots shooting at, straight up into the air ? And who puts an fixed gun like that, simply on the side of the road, no cover, at all ?

Oh yeah. THESE guys do.

And look what it got them. A mortar or artillery shell, right on their heads. It looks like one guy actually ran TOWARDS the eventual landing place for this shell, while trying to get away from the intended target, the gun. Not so great for him.

"Alluha Akbar" seems to be Arabic for " holy shit! ", too.

So RAPPY is all knotted up by a person being beheaded, but has a wargasm about people being blown to bits from the sky.

Got it.

Cause and effect Signy.

What do you suppose the person beheaded was doing right before their head was removed? You can obviously see what the people blown to bits were doing right before. Do you not see a difference?

Yes, the people who were blown to bits were pointing their gun at the sky because of an incoming drone/ plane/ missile.

I have no love for the Syrian "rebels". In fact, while the right wing here was getting all juiced up for another "Arab Spring revolt" (like Tunisia, Libya, and Egypt... which BTW were nothing of the sort) I was the one saying... Hey, these rebels aren't who you think they are. They're not freedom-loving Democrats, they're jihadists and include Al Qaida. I knew this because I happen to know a Syrian Xtian, and he gave me the low-down pretty early. No support for them from me.

But I'm not a moral relativist. Killing someone for something other than mortal self-defense is killing someone, whether you cut their head off with a nail file or hit them with a Hellfire missile.

Also, rappy just LOVES hearing the man repeating Allahu akbar, as if he's never heard people here repeating Oh my God in shock.

Where's the "wargasm " ?? All I did was note that it was a rather remarkable video.

At least these guys had a weapon to fight back with. ( Of course, it was them firing wildly into the air which likely got them targeted in the first place )

What chance did those innocents have , hands bound behind them, before their heads were slowly sawed off ? None.

And maybe I'm not watching the same video as y'all are. I see no one being blown up to bits. I see no strewn body parts, only smoke and dust everywhere. I don't doubt that there were causalities, but I don't see direct evidence of that on the vid. In contrast, there's no doubting what happens to those folks who get their heads cut off. I fail to see the reason to compare one to the other.

And seriously Sig, Alluha Akbar appears to have more uses to Muslims than Aloha does to Hawaiians. Hell, the Smurfs don't say 'Smurf ' as much as Muslims use Alluha Akbar.

Note, before the bomb drops, when the crowd below is readying for action, the camera man is shouting it, as if to mean " All right! Yeah Woo hoo ! " , and then after , he says it, but for a completely different reason.

Al Qaeda Weapons of Mass Destruction Threat: Hype or Reality?
A Timeline of Terrorists' Efforts to Acquire WMD
http://belfercenter.ksg.harvard.edu/publication/19852/al_qaeda_weapons
_of_mass_destruction_threat.html

There may be kernels of truth in each of these reasons as to why the world has not yet witnessed a terrorist WMD attack, which is at least a mild surprise, considering all that has come to pass since 2001. However, for purposes of making a clear-headed assessment of the threat, it may be useful to separate al Qaeda's WMD activity into two streams, one consisting of the strategic programs managed under the direct supervision and management of the al Qaeda core leadership, and the other consisting of tactical chemical, biological and radiological weapons development that was decentralized and pursued autonomously in various locations around the world as part of the "global jihad." On this basis, a more precise determination can be made on the actual threat posted by al Qaeda, and other groups in each of these cases.

Fortunately, there is a body of historical information that provides a useful starting point for such an inquiry. Hopefully, an examination of WMD-associated information that is pertinent, but no longer sensitive, can help bridge the gaps in perceptions between the diehard believers and skeptics as to the true nature of the problem and the threat it may pose, not just in an al Qaeda context today, but in the future as WMD terrorism takes on new forms involving new actors.

In June 2003, the US government issued a warning that there was a high probability of an al Qaeda WMD attack sometime in the next two years. This report represented a high water mark in concerns related to al Qaeda's WMD planning going back to the founding of the group. Why didn't an attack happen in the next two years? Was the threat hyped for political purposes? Was the intelligence assessment wrong? Or, was the threat neutralized? Some perspective into why the report was issued can be gleaned by examining some of the evidence that was available to US and international policymakers by the summer of 2003 concerning roughly fifteen years of al Qaeda's efforts to acquire weapons of mass destruction. Presenting this chronology will hopefully allow the reader to develop a better feel for the threat posed by al Qaeda's interest in WMD at that time, and use it as a basis to help determine whether the WMD terrorism threat is real.

Why, indeed? A moral quandary that THUGR refuses to acknowledge.
