Alright, be obtuse then. You know exactly what was being implied and it wasn't anything good. This is disappointing. I didn't think you were that kind of person.

The kind of person who doesn't blindly follow along on a false premise, that being , as Obama said, that HE could haven Trayvon ?

I'm not as gullible as others, I suppose. So yes, I'm THAT kind of person.

But truth be told, I WAS that gullible, when the story first came out. As I recall, I bought into the initial version , where a trigger happy WHITE guy shot some poor little defenseless black child in the back. " Hunted him down like a dog ", or words to that effect.

Then facts started coming out. Zimmermamn wasn't " white ", and Trayvon wasn't some child, shot in the back.

FF to this story, where a group of thuggish teenagers pointless attacked a lone individual, not because he was dissin' them, or owed anyone money, or was whistling at one of their girls... it appears they just beat him because he was white ? Story doesn't say, does it ? He was walking home from work, and gets attacked in Little Italy. I guess his broken jaw hurts just as much , no matter the color of his skin.

Be real here folks... for the moment you start making excuses for this sort of stuff, whether on the heels of the GZ case or not, you've lost the moral high ground.

Who was making excuses for what these kids did..? Anyone?

I give up. I hope to see you again in another thread when you're not playing stupid.

If you can have an intelligent discussion with 'them' you'll have accomplished the mighty. Honestly, they spend so much time so consistently arguing against the voices in their heads rather than what people actually post I can't help but think it's on purpose - to goad people into dancing to their posts.

You've not made clear the specific reason for your opposition to my post. And because of that, you've left me fishing for possible explanations.

" They all could have been Trayvon "

Clearly, a swipe at the comments that Obama said, when he interjected himself into the TM story.

Trayvon was headed down a very bad path in life, no one can deny that. It's clear, before too long, he may have very well ended up doing what these thugs did.

It's not a stretch, in the least.

Honestly, I don't know what your problem is here.

Admirable patience on your part Rap in explaining the obvious to the pathetic libtards here, but you're clearly wasting your time with them. They're all just manipulated useful idiots for the Sharpton/Jackson racial grievance industry, as well as for Obama's divide and conquer Alinsky brand of politics.

Right. My bad. I didn't realize that you really were behind this implication: the black teen was at 95% probability going to turn into a viciously violent criminal. I say it's quite a stretch. What was that bad path? Skipping school? Writing something on a door? Smoking something that a large number of young people have smoked? Look at these things he was suspended for and tell me they don't describe a solid number of all 17-year-olds.

The jewelry thing is weird, but that is enough for you to consider him a probable violent thug?

Plus, it doesn't even make sense, grammatically. What you all are saying is "Trayvon could have been all of them."

I'm done with this conversation. The way you're convicting a 17-year-old for some invented future crime is just appalling.

One thing I take away from listening to talk radio and Dennis Prager in particular, is the idea that clarity should be sought even above agreement. If we're both talking about the same thing, and understand each other, then if we still disagree, so be it. I persist on such matters not to " win " or to convert, but in order that we can at least TRY to see things as they are.

I thought your issue was the headline. Dunno where the '95% probability ' part came into the discussion.

Wrong path? Let's see... smoking dope, stealing, getting suspended from school, glorifying a thuggish, MMA street violence, as well asgun play, and not in a very NRA style appreciating manner either.

I've not heard of Trayvon being viewed of as a bully, but add in everything, and the LEAN aspect, and it's clear the kid was far from being a model citizen.

*I* didn't post the headline, so take it up w/ the OP on that matter. But it's clearly a reference to what Obama said. How you don't connect that may be part of the problem.

Actually the behavior describes a solid number of African American teenagers. Martin was following a career path that leads to jail for the majority of black teenage boys. Its not racist, its statistics and those statistics represent an ongoing problem in the African American community and one that has gotten worse in the last fifty years.

You can't blame poverty, althought that is a factor. They had lots of poverty in the 1960s. You can't blame racist laws, although the laws are a factor. They had real racist laws in the 1960s, not the ones people pretend are racist because of their disproportionate effects.

Lets look at the overall facts. In the 1960s there was less violent crime, schools (even segregated schools) were the same or better in African American communities then they are today. There was higher church attendence, more stable families and long term marriages, less drug use. The Civil Rights movement addressed all the injustice and did wonders to win the race argument. Martin Luther King won his war...then the African American community lost the peace. Liberal social, political, and economic policies (and hundreds of billions of dollars) designed to correct racial injustice has done some good and a tremendous amount of harm to the very people they sought to protect.

I have said it before, unless and until the African American community learns to vote their class, political, regional, and social interests like every other minority (and the majority such as it is) has...instead of voting as a single, race-based voting block...they will never improve their overall standing. Look at 2012. It was a pretty close race. If the African American community had voted the way the country did, splitting around 52-48 instead of around 90-10...Mitt Romney would be President today. The black community elected President Obama, yet is every measurable catagory the black community has suffered more then any other under the President's policies. They greet this fact with jubulation. After all, they shout, he's gonna give them their "Bama Phone" and "Bama money". Things they could provide themselves if they adopted economic based voting and elected new leaders who were forced to adopt good policies because if they didn't they be the next one out on their asses.

In other words, vote Republican. Show the Republicans we CAN earn black votes and we will work for them. As it stands, we could give them everything they want and they'd still vote 80-90% for the Democrats...even if the Democrats are advocating things they DON'T want. Also, show the Democrats the CAN lose the black vote and they will work for them too. Make both sides compete for the black vote and they'll get good and effective policies from one side or the other...or both (it can happen, hell, sometimes it even does happen).

H

Hero...must be right on all of this. ALL of the rest of us are wrong. Chrisisall, 2012
