"there may not be a market when I wanted to bring it out, which was like, three years from now"

There may not be a market? For Star Wars?!?!?! Just how bad is this third movie going to be?

Well, George, thanks for the wonderful set of movies but the trite philosophy is very disappointing. We've been waiting over a decade for him to poop or get off the pot, never thought he'd poop.

Clear skys.

"I don't think Joss would really go for the epic battle to stop some universe destroying power every season. It would get old far too quickly for him."

I'm pretty sure that Buffy regularly featured an epic battle to stop some universe destroying power in not only every season, but every other episode.

He might not want to go back into heavy latex, though.

I think Joss could do a GREAT job but it would all come down to the weight of Lucas's thumb.

What if Lucas gave it to Mutant Enemy and Joss? Tim Minear, Ben Edlund, Jane E?

Fallen Jedi, smugglers, desperate out of work Water Farmers. May the force be in the pipe I'm smoking.

Hello everyone, I don't know if you guys check out pennyarcade but here is the link, it is very appropriate for this thread.

And I am not so sure Joss would be able to do such a good job with the Star Wars Universe. Not that he lacks talent or anything just that it would be very constrained and have a whole lot of oversight from many people at LucasArts. I don't think they would let his creative genius run wild with it. If they did, he would do a good job with it.

Edit* the toon uses language, so look from work at your own risk.

Ok, I read this, and I was like, "Yeah! Give it to Succatash! We'll help him!"
and then my brain kicked in."Oh. Mutant Enemy. Not 'me'. Right."

:)

hmph....well :raspberry: to you too Lucas. Yeah sure this set will sell, but that's only because people's tapes have croaked and gone to VHS heaven. I know for one thing, I'm renting them from Netflix. Not going to waste $50 bucks on Lucas.

It's not so much the changes that tick me off, it's the fact that Lucas doesn't care that he wouldn't have been successful if the fans did not like the originals. He's got plenty of money to release both sets. And he'd make more than enough so that to give part of the profit to his ex-wife (if that part is true) wouldn't really make a dent in his personal financial gain at all. None of the reasons he's told the press could support a stupid marketing decision.

Methinks it was more interesting the other way, actually.

I always wanted to quote myself, so here goes...

Lastly, I have a little trivia question that I came up with, which my co-worker honestly couldn't answer, though he professed to having seen all the SW movies:
Which live actor will have been in 4 of the 6 movies, after Star Wars III: The Sudden But Inevitable Betrayal goes to final credits? (Not puppet or robot.)

(EDIT: Okay, it's 5 of 6 now, on the DVD set. GL reedited one of the movies in which the actor did not originally appear. How's that for on-topic?)

There's been no response, so either the answer's obvious, or no one knows it. Here's another hint: I think it's GL's secret hero of the series... Remember, no puppets or toys; live actor.

Questioningly,

zoid
