Questions that Auraptor can't/refuses to answer

OTOH I don't mind talking ABOUT rapppy, so here is another question he never answered. But there is a shaggy-dog story behind it, here it is:
Rappy was insisting, as he is wont to do, that the UN Resolution 1441 gave the USA carte blanche to invade Iraq because it mentioned Resolution 678 which had authorized member states to use all necessary means to ensure compliance.
[Back in the day when I tried reasonable talk with rappy] I tried telling rappy that UN resolutions did not have infinite lifetime, that new resolutions superseded old ones, and that mentioning previous resolutions did not keep them in force, it was simply a way of referencing all previous resolutions being superseded. Rappy, as usual, failed to understand. So I rather pointedly asked him if he knew what the word "supersede" meant.
Of course, he never answered.

Sorry...since quitting my meds, the one thing I'm struggling with is frustration; it goes from 0-10 in a micro-second and comes right out my mouth. I'm letting the above stand because that's my reaction; I was just THINKING about you a few minutes ago, and here you are, and there it is.
It's of course your choice to come, go, stay, leave, etc. I just want you to know that I, for one, miss you HORRIBLY, like at least a couple of times a DAY when I post/read here, and wish to shit you wouldn't let yourself get run off. Now I'll return to trying to post reasonably; at least you know.

On the subject of the thread, I, too, would like an answer to the question KPO posed, and feel exactly the same about the lack of response. I also agree that "the most simplistically-minded and and annoying defender of the far right wing status-quo", but he doesn't piss me off as much as he does others and I don't consider him an asshole, just really, really sad in how brainwashed he is and how, literally, "he can't engage in intelligent conversation" and everything else Sig wrote in that post. I found Rap, more than anything else on earth, a source of FRUSTRATION, not hate, and now make a serious effort not to even attempt to communicate with him because of it.
And yes, Penguin, what Mal4 said; I spent an enormous amount of time trying to communicate with Rap before I finally "got it" and stopped. Frustration naturally leads to anger, and for me at least, that's behind my unwillingness to engage him and my chosen option of mocking him. Ironically, Rap and I communicate like great friends when it comes to a number of other subjects, but when it comes to ANY views held by the "right", there can be no communication whatsoever...if global warming weren't a political hot potato, it's even possible he'd believe in it. But if anything involves a belief on the right, it canNOT be valid in his world and there can be no communication with him. If you bother to hang around long enough, you'll learn for yourself.
As to your pleas for civility here, all I can suggest is you give them up right now. Numerous people have made such pleas; they are merely a waste of time you'll never get back. You will be told off, told you are trying to "control" everyone, and become a target for some of the worst "incivility" humanly possible, I guarantee it. Spare yourself all that, please; I'd like to see you stick around and not be driven off as so many others who have tried to appeal to the humanity of RWED have been. I'll give you a hint; Chris used to be one of, if not THE, kindest, most civil posters here, people would remark on how gentle he was. Does that tell you something?
I will state that, until and unless Rap actually ANSWERS the question KPO posed and I and others have posed repeatedly, or posts a link to where he already did answer it, anything he writes stating he at some time DID answer it is bullshit. I have no memory of ever seeing a valid contradiction of the proof of global warming from him, and I don't believe he's ever offered one.
Lastly, I think this thread is a bad idea and will TRY not to respond in it further. I don't hate Rap, I've been the focus of nasty threads aimed at me and don't wish to further one aimed at anyone else. Doesn't mean I WON'T respond, but I will certainly try not to.

Yeah I'm still in two minds about this thread tbh. I didn't mean it to be a catty personal attack thread, but in a way it kind of inherently is...
And hmm, I see that the edit thread title function is gone from the site. Well, I'm still interested in my experiment so I'm going to start a new thread - that's about right-wingers generally, but not Auraptor specifically. I think dropping his name from the thread title will make it less of a personal attack thread. We'll see how it goes.
