Not exactly a spooky prediction, Byte.

First pope to resign in 600 years. Not a bad thing really, for the CEO of a multi billion dollar industry to not pretend to hang on to power while he declines.

I'm not Catholic and don't speak Italian, but aside from that I'd make a hell of a Pope.

Imagine the chicks the Pope can get...I mean the Catholic Schoolgirl uniform was invented by the Pope...

I dunno, this pope was really conservative and went back on some of the stuff John Paul was progressing on, plus he was a Hilter Youth, but then both of them covered up the abuse scandals.

Apparently, pretty much all the Cardinals that will choose the next Pope were appointed bt either John Paul or Benedict XVI, so I wouldn't expect them to choose anyone very liberal for the next Pontif.

It's all so silly, especially the media talking heads acting all pious and solemn discussing the Pope and the Catholic church. Then they leave the studio, hop into the back seat of their limos, and snort coke off their paid escort's exposed breasts. Thank you God!

True. And the Latino countries will probably be fine with that. But I think most the rest of the christian world kinda sees the catholic church as a bit behind the times.

I didn't know popes could retire like that, I thought they had to be pope until they died or unless someone gets all the cardinals to kick him out/impeach him. I remember when he started as Pope he was reluctant, I don't think he ever really wanted the job. Neither would I. Goodness knows I'm no saint, and no pope either. I'm not even willing to be a pastor's wife, no thanks, too many people watching you and expecting too much of you, no one's perfect.
