Lucas takes a poo on the heads of ungrateful fans

Something seems wrong about this whole thing. Lucas starts out as a nobody trying to make some visionary art he came up with. The fans embrace his art and in turn make him a very very rich man. Lucas then has the money to make the art he so wanted in the first place and says "who cares about the fans"? Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth. 
I don't think Star Wars is really Joss's forte. Star Wars is an action, light and dark, good and bad, right and wrong sort of thing. Joss loves gray too much. I don't think Joss would really go for the epic battle to stop some universe destroying power every season. It would get old far too quickly for him.

Yes, it's his gorram creation. Yes, he can release it as he chooses. Our reaction is ours though, same as his franchise is his.
To call his own films - undeniably classic no matter which way you choose to look at it or the eventual franchisising - "half finished" tells me this man had no clue what he really has done.
*shrug* I guess masterpieces can be made by accident.

I don't think the originals were crap. And I don't think Joss should take over. What Lucas did was worlds away from what The Whedon does best.
Two different geniuses, each doing their dream. Never the twain shall meet...
In retrospect, its easy for Lucas to say "oh yeah well that first try was just half-finished" because of the technology that is available to him now. Originally, Star Wars was THE state of the art movie at the time. It actually, and quite literally, took my breath away. I will NEVER forget how I felt sitting in that theater the first time I saw the original movie. I absolutlely could NOT have moved from that seat. I was riveted.
Star Wars changed movies for me. Much like Joss has changed tv for me. There is no way in hell that I would ever want to take that back or change it in any way. It's a part of my youth and fandom that I cherish immeasurably. Let Lucas say whatever he wants. I don't care. I will love the original movies until the day I die.

I'm not buying the DVD's just to see the blasters being replaced with walkie-talkies.
Did anyone ever see that banned re-make of 'A New Hope' that made it's way around the internet? I was wondering how it was.

Is your blaster/walkie-talkie reference from ET? Because I remember when they actually DID that. Digitally removed the government guys guns and put walkie-talkies in instead.
