You're welcome

I'm rather surprised though as there were dozens of requests for this TAB that there hasn't been more respose to this :disapointed: It seemed every time that the Firefly Theme was talked about half a dozen folk would jump in yelling "we want the Hero of Canton". Go Figure

Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!

Here's a couple a dozen thank yous from one browncoat. Hope it kinda balances things out for ya.

Seriously though, thanks. I've been trying a few variations myself, yet haven't been quite satisfied by my results.

I'll be in my bunk...

Good tab :D. Fingerpickery will be duly begun...

Also, does anyone know of any tabs for the incidental guitar music anywhere?

Yeagh, I'd like one too, pity the song on the DVD has dialog over it

Excellent tab. BUT...

I found it sounded much better to play it in D rather than C. In C it sounds more like a 'campfire' version of the song, while raising the key a bit made it sound more like the TV version.

5x5: Alan Tudyk was in 28 Days, not 28 Days Later. There's a difference.
Paladin: So, no wacky zombie with a Hawaiian shirt, then?

Here's a site that has both a WAV and MP3 of it, sadly, it's directly from the show so the dialogue is still there , but it better than nothing I guess.

Do you mean Capo on 2nd or changing the chords?

Personally I capo it on third 'cause I sing it best in Eb. BUT raising the key via capo is one thing, changing the chords is quite different, and to my ear the guitar has a general "fall" between refraim and verse which C to Am chords capture but D to Bm chords do not: they give a general "rise" which the song just ain't got.

Besides that, transposing the link to;
>>D>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bm
E_2____________2__
B_3____________3__
G_2_______0h2__4__
D___3_2_0______4__
A______________3__
E______________3__

Just dosn't work right to my ear, or sound anything like the version on the DVD; it's just too "high", and frankly dosn't "flow" right.

It's all personal taste I suppose but I like what you're calling the "campfire" sound as it fits with a pup sing-along-number which Hero after all is spupposed to be; a pub -sing-along-number done by a busker And as an ex-pub singer and busker it's a bl**dy good one too, which is a tribute to Joss' mastery of the musical vocabulary

On the other hand, there could be others out there who hear as you do 5x5, so how's about tabbing out your D version for them.

Besides, the tune (for TV time reasons) is quite short, it'd be great to extend it by doing a second round modulated up to D I know I'd appreciate a D tab version for that reason.

Wahadya say

Well, someone who read this thread, or one of the Firefly mailing lists I'm on, has posted these tab/chords to the Fireflywhiki which I'd never heard of before but at first sight looks like a good site

http://www.fireflywikiorg/Firefly/HeroOfCantonChords

So between these pages and the wiki, the favourite song of all true Jayne Fans ought will never again be unfindable. Shiny

Jayne is Firefly's Cordellia - Joss W

appologies folks

The A7 chord should read Am7
The fingering given is correct; only the name is wrong.

Is the fingering you have for A7 right for Am7? The fingering for A7 on the tab-thingy says

E A D G B E
0 0 2 0 1 0

but I think Am7 is
E A D G B E
0 0 2 2 1 3

If I'm wrong, feel free to tell me! I'm still pretty new at guitar, but that's the way I learned it....
