Oh, Arlo and I have met, even if we haven't formally introduced ourselves to each other. I'm a bit of a ghost here lately. Very busy winding down a business and moving on to the next gig. Hoping for one where I can take my dog to work, but that's rather the exception than the rule, I'm afraid. I'm in negotiations with a couple other companies, so let the bidding wars begin!

Ahhh, Mike, glad to see you've met. You guys are two peas in a pod to me, with subtle differences. Or actually, Arlo is kind of like a cross between you and Anthony, in some ways. I'm thoroughly enjoying his contributions.
All good wishes on the job hunt--crossing fingers you CAN find something that lets you take your dog. There are quite a bit of such things around here, but only in smaller businesses, not in the corporate world (of course!).
I had noticed you were around less. Aside from not missing your lengthy head-to-heads with poor Rap, I do miss you. But it looks like there are others to take up the slack on that one, so I'll just miss you, period. Just for gawd's sake, never disappear completely! I kinda count on you...

The NRA was founded as a govt agency to train school children how to shoot rifles, because 90% of US soldiers refused to shoot enemy soldiers on the battlefields.

Police officially declare that the only bullets fired inside the school were 223 caliiber used by an AR15, and police arrested at least 4 other suspects including a man in cammo inside the school during the shootings. I don't think paying for armed security guards to be at each school is the best solution. But allowing teachers to conceal carry if they choose (with required permit and certification/instruction for those who choose to) would be just fine with me, I wouldn't mind such a practice at my little brother's school. Or certified volunteer parents who come in to parent help anyway, or the principal.
I also would be fine with re upping the ban on asault guns, we had such a ban for a while and everyone I know who owns guns still had plenty. I've always been okay with the idea of re upping that ban.
I find it alarming that no one mentioned the atrocity of having a registry of people with mental illness, I mean WHAT????????????/ I watched the press release on CNN and when he said that I was pretty concerned. I don't want to be on some rutting registry of "dangerous" people, no rutting way.
