Following a flood of complaints to the show’s official Facebook page in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook school shooting, the Discovery Channel has announced that the hit reality show American Guns will not return for a third season.
“This comes as something of a surprise given its growing popularity,” reports Fox News. “The show had a 50 percent ratings increase for its second season premiere, and one of its stars, Renee Wyatt, recently said she would “definitely” be interested in returning for season three.”
A Discovery Channel representative refused to connect the show’s shock cancellation to Friday’s tragedy. American Guns is just one of several highly popular firearms-based shows broadcast by the company.
Complaints about the show centered around the fact that it made “buying/owning guns seem fun, glamorous, even normal,” and that it was “inappropriate” to broadcast the program in the aftermath of Friday’s events. Given the fact that almost half of Americans own guns, one wonders how owning guns in America can be described as anything other than “normal”.
“It does not surprise me that Discovery may be lowering the profile of its gun coverage,” responded a rep for the The Firearm Coalition. “That’s their prerogative. Nonetheless this tragedy has as much to do about lawful use of guns as the lawful use of cars has to do with a car bombing.”
This again illustrates how gun control advocates are circling the wagons against the second amendment, by attempting to demonize the very discussion of firearms as something dirty and taboo.
As we reported earlier, crowds of people are flocking to gun buyback programs run by police departments across the country in order to hand in their firearms, with many citing Friday’s shooting as a reason for doing so.

Paige said the following on Twitter: "Need to put down my phone all of there anti-gun tweets are making me so frustrated." Many fans started responding to her and she retweeted several of their tweets.

She retweeted things about guns not killing people and that people do. She even thanked one fan when they mentioned that "American Guns" always promotes gun safety. Their show is very particular about this and even teach classes to make sure people know how to use a gun the right way. They also help people to get their license to carry a gun in a legal manner at their store Gunsmoke.
Paige Wyatt has made it loud and clear that even after Adam Lanza killed several people in the Connecticut gun shootings she is still a fan of the weapon as long as it is used in the right way. Do you agree or disagree with her opinion on this matter?

I'd like to know if his site's ever had a single level 8 contributor or, for that matter, a single level 5 one. Sites are cheap, for the most part.

Following its decision to cancel the hit gun show American Guns in response to the Connecticut school massacre, the Discovery Channel has signaled that two more firearms-based programs are set to be axed.
Despite admitting that Sons of Guns has enjoyed “pretty solid ratings,” Discovery Channel spokeswoman Laurie Goldberg indicated to the New York Times that the show would not get the green light for a new season.
“All I can say is, it is not on the schedule and it is not on the schedule in the near future,” said Goldberg, responding “There is no data that I am aware of,” when asked if the show had been renewed.
Sons of Guns is a reality show that centers around Red Jacket Firearms, a Louisiana-based company that manufactures custom firearms. The show occasionally features gun-enthusiast celebrities such as Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, who recently appeared on the program to test fire a fully automatic M4 assault rifle.
In addition to the demise of Sons of Guns, the Discovery Channel also announced that firearms enthusiast and musician Ted Nugent would not be returning to the channel in any form.
“After Friday’s devastating massacre at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, the spokesperson said that Nugent would definitely not be returning to the Discovery Channel,” reports Raw Story,despite claims by Nugent and the NRA that his one hour special, Ted Nugent’s Gun Country, was set to be made into a regular series and that “there will be at least a dozen shows a year.”
As we reported on Monday, the Discovery Channel announced that the popular reality show American Guns will not return for a third season, following complaints that it was “inappropriate” to broadcast the program in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook elementary school shootings because it made “buying/owning guns seem fun, glamorous, even normal.”
A Discovery Channel spokesperson added that the fallout from the massacre “has really started something,” and that even repeats of the show would not be aired.
In targeting pro-gun shows that teach people how to exercise their rights for cancellation, the Discovery Channel has taken a firm stance against the second amendment and is implying that the mere discussion of guns is now off limits.
Hollywood is also at the forefront of the attempt to make the second amendment a taboo subject. Scenes featuring guns have been cut from the new Tom Cruise movie Jack Reacher, while the premiere of the Quentin Tarantino film Django Unchained has been postponed.
