Well, in a sense, aren't we all sockpuppets?

I mean, are any of you posting under your real, given name here? I'm not; I can assure you that my parents did not name me "Kwicko" upon birth.

Who we are on this site is not who we really are in real life. We are here as an imago, an icon of our actual selves. What you see here is not the totality of any one person, but the image they share with you by choice.

Some apparently have chosen to share more than one image of themselves. Some may have even shifted the image they project.

One might note that I did not assume malice, simply obfuscation of identity.

And yes, I had suspicions, when a user using tablet style formatting and green text goes away and another user comes along using green text and tablet formatting shows up in the same time frame, with certain similarities of style - who would not be ?

I was emphatically not the only one who noticed this at the time, but simply felt there was no reason to pursue it whatever given apparent lack of malicious intent.

I'd deny a certain protective instinct but I rather doubt anyone here would buy that, so whatever.

Oh, and speakin of similarities of style, Nickpuppet, you ain't very convincing, stick to your own name, ehe ?

"Nickpuppet"?? Is that a reference to me?? Now you're making ME paranoid!

And by the way, initially was going to respond to Mike by saying that, while not the totality of the person, I use my own name and I THINK "speak" to you guys the same as I do to Choey, or Jim, or anyone else. I'm sure subconsciously there are differences, but not consciously. I've never been on a forum board under anything but my own name, and never deliberately portrayed myself as other than I am.

So what's with this "Nickpuppet" thing, Frem?

(Just popped in to turn the computer off, so I'll check in tomorrow...you've got me wondering what's going on...)

'#fff4d0' This is the color I used when I first came here. Not
green; the predominant color is red. I'd call it a dark manilla.
One rule is the color has to be light enough for clear contrast
against the black background. Dreamtrove, for example, always
used the standard bright green; I wouldn't.

I am inconsistent, changing the color on whim or to show off.

You can go places like this to get the hexadecimal color codes,
http://html-color-codes.com/ .. but I don't because I like to mess
with the code myself until the color looks good to me.

Lots of people love color, love a bit of artistry in their
expression. Real People even.

Haven't used tan yet. Maybe I'll do this color for awhile.

I don't think it is even a secret. Sockpuppet uses run on, stream of consciousness sentences. It's a very unique style. Sounds just like DT.

And Oonjerah doesn't. She talks like a woman, with subtle emotional nuances. She also uses short sentences separated by line breaks, with a lot of enumeration. Very different voice. Definitely not DT.
