Replace FOX news with MSNBC in particular, and the rest of the MSM , and switch RNC with DNC, and you have it exactly right.

Fox New has been boasting that their convention coverage ratings were higher than ABC, NBC, and CBS. WOW!...but wait a minute, hold on...Fox covered 5 or 6 hours a night, while the networks only carried the main speakers for about an hour a night.

I shouldn't laugh. It's terrible that he's so god awful with the truth. But the gap between the claim and the facts - it's not even close. Not even a little. Not even explainable by any reasonable means. Slipped a decimal place? Nope. Number of employees? Nope. And that's what makes it so damn funny.

Funny, yes...or it would be, if it weren't for the fact that the people he's speaking to will never know the truth, which makes it "scary" instead.
It confuses me, if I think about it (which I long since ceased to do as it went on and on, culminating in his speech at the RNC). He's been touted as the "numbers guy", the shrewd one who is so great with facts and figures...now THIS?! The only thing I can conceive of is that he was schooled in the "anything goes now" mentality and is being a good little candidate in following the Republicans' lead. They're all doing it, and the VP is supposed to be the "attack dog", so he's just doing his job. Otherwise, it makes absolutely no sense for someone who has been considered smart and factual for so long. Just like McCain accepted Palin because it was his last chance at the spotlight (which I still believe), I think Ryan is playing the game he's been given.
Unquestionably they've learned they can say anything with no consequences, and it's working for them. There ARE no consequences; given their audience hates Obama so much they WANT to hear his lies, and given the majority of their audience (like Raptor) ONLY get their info from right-wing talk radio and FauxNews, it's perfectly safe to lie their asses off...their voters will never hear otherwise.
I used to laugh at their idiocy (well, I still do), but it's gotten so out of control that now I can only shake my head in disgust. We need a VIABLE second party, dammit, but I don't see one on the horizon. As it is, if the Repubs continue following their "Party of No" agenda and keep lying about EVERYTHING, I'm afraid they will become irrelevant, and that just won't do.
