Is Paul Ryan Fundamentally Incapable of Telling the Truth?

Okay, we all know that Paul Ryan told a pack of whoppers in his floor speech at the RNC - so many, in fact, that even Fox said he might be trying to win a gold medal for blatant lying.
But is he capable of telling the truth about ANYTHING?
He claimed he ran a marathon in "a two hour and fifty-something" time - a truly impressive feat for anyone to accomplish. Problem is, he's only ever run one marathon, and that one took him more than 4 hours.
So if he can't tell the truth about even the simplest of things, is there anything he WON'T lie about? Isn't this an indictment of the man's very character, if he's so willing to be so cavalier with the truth?

Rappy's response? "You're lying, gullible ( believing in some BS you heard on msnbc ) or hard of hearing."

Mike, having crossed paths with the right-wingers here, being witness to the flap about Bill Nye the Science Guy. and listening (gingerly) to the RNC Convention, I have to say I'm horrified by how disconnected the right wing is from reality. There is something truly scary knowing that 40% of the USA population believes that god made people in their (our) current form, and also watching them swallow the shit that the GOP just spewed. I think it is being called "post fact media" or some such: facts no longer matter to a large portion of the population, they are willing to believe whatever propaganda is being sprayed at them today and forget whatever was sprayed at them yesterday.
My only consolation in this whole thing is that reality catches up with people sooner or later.

Kwicko, give the guy a break. It is hard to compete with Bush's WMD in Iraq and waterboarding isn't that bad. He is just at the "I can see Russia from my backdoor" level. Give him time to work up to the big ones.

You're the one who is lying here.
Fox never did say Ryan was lying. You're referring to some Left wing blogger who contributes to FOX, but in fact was lying her own damn self.
Funny how the Left uber exaggerates anything a Republican says, but strangely is deaf, dumb and mute when a Liberal says nothing BUT lies, time and time again.
This 100% phony, completely contrived and childish ( hell yes, I said it ) temper tantrum the Left has in inSISTING that Ryan is some sort of 'liar', is beyond absurd.
By their own standards, if Ryan IS such a liar, the Left should be kissing his feet and offering to bear his young! After all, Libs LOVE Bill Clinton, who is as official a liar as the WH has ever HAD! So why the hate towards Ryan ?

Iraq was in violation of the UN, for what ever the hell that's worth.
Waterboading isn't that bad, but it yielded results which lead to the killing of bin Laden. So give props where due.
Palin never said that about Russia. You've confused her w/ an SNL skit.

"Post fact media" only works because there are "post fact people" who heed the call. Since rappy comes here for his shot of dopamine (the addiction chemical) which his brain is trained to squirt every time he reinforces a delusion (Yep, mental masturbation!) I respectfully suggest that we deny him the opportunity and let him and his baseless/irrelevant opinions slip out of sight as we talk about more interesting things.

Irony, thy name is Rappy. Your little "childish temper tantrum" here has no fewer than eight instances of whinging about "lies" and "lying" and "uber exaggeration" and "contrived" and "phony", while you try to insist that everyone is lying except Ryan.
"Post-fact media", indeed. You've made it abundantly clear that facts will have no effect on you.

Sig, you can't deny anything I said, so instead, you simply wallow in the lowest levels of discourse, and attempt to hurl baseless insults.
Truth has no business w/ you, at all.

About says it. Tho' I left 'horrified' so far back I can't even see it. It was astonishing to me, the way they lie blatantly so MUCH, but I finally got it: "Anything goes". There used to be ways to inform the public of lies, and there still is, but given nowadays they have FauxNews to repeat the lies and are so far right that I think their base has completely lost touch with reality, there's no stopping them anymore. I believe they truly have decided as a group that anything goes, otherwise so many of them wouldn't be lying, and there wouldn't have been so many truly blatant lies at the RNC convention. They know nobody who their base will listen to will call them out, so I guess they figure "why not?" It's sickening, but no longer surprises me.

Y'know, I heard Wolf Blitzer, who was once a revered journalist and reporter among some folks, say after Ryan's LieFest something to the effect of, "Well, that will keep the fact-checkers busy..." Hey Wolf - YOU ARE THE FACT CHECKER!!! You're a reporter, you fucking idiot; if you're not interested in the facts and reporting them, what good are you?
He's far from the only one, of course. These days, it's more of a surprise when a reporter slips up and commits an act of honest journalism than when they just repeat the press releases they've been handed. Soledad O'Brien called out a couple people on their bullshit in the last couple weeks, and frankly I'm surprised she hasn't been fired for it. Chris Matthews called out Reince Preibus on his bullshit on The Morning Joe, and there was a bit of an uncomfortable silence from the rest of the panel. It seemed like they were antsy that anyone called out a guy they might have to talk to in the future at some point.
Quit kissing the asses of these people. Call their bullshit what it is. You'd be amazed at the response you'll get from viewers. Hell, CNN might even get viewers out of such a bold move!
