As a matter of fact, I AM the evil twin!
I'm listening to Bon Jovi's "Blaze of Glory" album and am astonished by how well it fits Firefly - mostly the themes of fighting back, facing one's demons, and seeking redemption. "Sante Fe," "Dyin' Ain't Much of a Livin'," and "Justice in the Barrell (Of a loaded gun)" just fit the show's overall tone.

"Bang a Drum" on the album gets me thinking about Book. "Miracle" might as well be the Firefly Fan's Anthem ("It's gonna take a miracle to save us this time...Don't let 'em clip your wings, cause I believe that you can fly!")

As for Instrumentals - Peter Elman's Dakota Nights and Durango Saloon for "Western-flavored" music with modern instruments - more on Dakota Nights. Another CD of 1860's popular songs is also good "background music."

Does anyone else have music in their stash that fits Firefly's characters or situations?

Definitely in the same vein as the theme of Firefly, and when I heard the theme for the first time I thought of this right away, the main theme from Ken Burn's documentary "The Civil War" is called Ashoken Farewell. A haunting melody on acoustic guitar and violin (or fiddle if you prefer). I think if Firefly has a slower, more introspective scene this song could be plugged right in.

The more I get to know people the more I like my dogs.

I was recently listening to a cd & the song "Another Perfect Catastrophe" by Firewater struck me as very Firefly. Now I'm catching myself examining all my music.

Another few songs...

I heard Sheena E's "Glamourous Life" and started snickering. Someone's got to put that on an Inara tape.

Another song was from Titan AE's soundtrack - "Not Quite Paridise"

Ooh, you're right. Not Quite Paradise so fits. Actually nearly the whole Titan A.E. soundtrack fits.

After last night, I have a suggestion for a Mal&Zoe theme song - "Goodnight, Saigon" by Billy Joel
