Why is Kwicko the only one who I see respond to a message in FFF?

ETA: I tested it out, and when I replied to myself using the blue site I got a notification. I've replied to myself on the red site before and not gotten notified. So for some reason the notifications on FFF 2.0 aren't working...

Sheet...I switched from the old version ages ago, and don't want to go back. A conundrum, that. Let's see if Haken can do anything about it...

ETA: I just checked on the "FFF 2.0" forum ( http://beta.fireflyfans.net/mthread.aspx?tid=51875) and it's been discussed there...apparently Haken is/was working on a "cure". Hope he finds one; I've found that very frustrating, as sometimes I happen across a response to one of my posts waaaaay after the fact and, I'm sure, sometimes not at all.

Unfortunately, Haken's answer was that it would be fixed on the next update, "probably tonight"...and that was back on May 11th. Sigh...

The old site still works better for my Mac. It loads faster *AND* threads are only one page long, no matter how many responses there are. I get annoyed with having to go to the next page, or the last page, and it taking more than a couple minutes to load, so the old "blue" site is much faster and better for me.

I didn't even know the blue site could still be used. I liked the look of it better than the red.

At the very least, we should ask Haken to make posting in the RWED Blue again instead of Red. Even better, why not have an option in your user preferences to display those colors as whatever color you want to see here? I'm sure that wouldn't be difficult to pull off.

Colors mean a lot more to people than one would think. Red can mean passion and love, but it can also translate to anger and hate. It's a fine line.

Blue is universally tranquil.

Again, not an excuse, but just an observation. I seemed to be a lot more civilized with the old Blue boarders than after I was forced to make the change.

I'll have to try your link out Kwick, and see if this theory holds any water.

It should also be noted that when you reply to a post and are asked for your password in the old "blue" system, you are immediately put in the reply page to the thread. When you reply to a post in the new "red" system, you are transferred to the home page after entering it.

Another huge annoyance, in my mind....

Can anyone tell me how to get back to the original version? I've been on v.2 for ages, and the link I have in my favorites for the old site just brings up the new one--I tried Google, etc., but can't access the old page.

Thanx Ying, and Mike (I missed that, sorry). Yuck...big type, etc.; I'd forgotten how ugly and cumbersome it was. But I suppose if it lets me get notifications, it's worth it...for now! Hope Haken can get it sorted out so I can go back to the new version.

Thanks for the links. I've switched back to the blue too. I like the look of the new site, but the blue is more calming. I missed it.

I also like that when you click on the "since your last view" list up top (on the blue), you go right to the post instantly. The new site is a bit cumbersome about that, reloading the whole page. Too slow for my short attention span!

Okay, I gave up on the old version of FFF. It has glitches a-plenty, like I'll hit "post" repeatedly and nothing posts--I have to copy what I wrote into a new "reply" for it to work. Plus numerous other things, and I don't like the little tiny box you have to type in. Plus I like this version MUCH better for many reasons. So I'm back here; means I'll have to give up getting notification of responses (and yes, I was getting them on the blue site), but such is life; hopefully Haken will fix that eventually. I do miss the little "table of icons", but there are so many other things I appreciate about this version, it's just not worth it being over there.
