Is "Awake" the new "Prisoner?"

I never saw this show, but it reads like another one season mind frack like McGoohans' 60's series.

Yep, I liked it a lot. I'm not sure it was intended as just a one season show, but they apparently saw the writing on the wall and had a contingency plan for a satisfactory conclusion.

Well, a conclusion is always appreciated!
I as just Googling Jason to see what he'd done & saw it listed. Now I wanna see the series.

Ec & Chris... Do you mean it's being cancelled already? I was waiting for this to develop some, before committing to it. I like Jason Isaacs I reckon he'd have been a good Bond.

Yeah, just thirteen episodes, but they're damn good ones. No word on a DVD release yet, and hulu.com has only the last five eps available. You can watch all of them if you have HuluPlus though.

That's sad to read. Seems like the quality shows finish prematurely while the lesser shows keep on and on.... Well I suppose if it's concluded and it ends competently then that's better than most.

I shall keep and eye out for it. I have a friend who is a TV DVD maniac, I'm sure I can borrow it from him at some stage.

Yeppers, the bun is a fan.

Really enjoyed it.

Not that much like Prisoner, except for engaging hero, shorter run
than we'd like, and lingering questions. Okay, that sounds like a fair
amount, but I never got a Prisoner feeling from it, and had been really
absorbed* by Prisoner, even while watching it years later.

Looked as if they had to wrap Awake in a hurry, sort of a scramble.

I found Jason I. in Friends With Money (LOL!!) and think he'd make
a great Bond.

Hey Chris,

Yeah, it was pretty damn great while it lasted. And, as far as I know, the last episode was not altered when the show was canceled. They ran the ep they always had intended. I don't know why no one on the internet noticed what they were doing with that final episode. Spoilers follow:

He woke up the day of the accident. In season two we'd have three realities with the Detective working to prevent the accident in this new reality which would set us on a whole new timeline. Too bad it'll never happen now.
