I was excited for about 10 seconds that they were releasing two remastered episodes of TNG to theaters on July 23rd. Then I saw which two episodes.
"Where No one has Gone Before:" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Where_No_One_Has_Gone_Before
"Datalore:" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datalore
It should tell you enough that they are both first season. What gives? Who choose these? My wife thinks the powers-at-be are trying to turn people off to old Star Trek in favor of the new Best Buy-Chris Pine clusterfrak.
I would have loved to see "Yesterday's Enterprise," "Darmok," or "The Inner Light." I mean, if they're doing two, why not just do "Best of Both Worlds"? The best I can figure is that the fathom website kinda implies they aren't even done remastering the first season yet, but in that case, just do "Encounter at Farpoint," not this crap. Damn shame...

I know, huh! If they're gonna pick two episodes with big, cinematic action, they could've picked...
• Best of Both Worlds, Both Parts
• Yesterday's Enterprise
• Relics
• All Good Things
• and bunches more!

It's a test... to provoke an emotional response.
If these two generate $ interest, then they KNOW to do all of them.

They would have to be nearly finished, if not completely finished, with remastering all of Season One, since it is scheduled for release on Blu-Ray in one month's time. Since that is the only season to get the HD treatment so far it makes sense that the theatrical re-releases would be from the first year.

I still want to go see them, Star Trek TNG on the big screen will be fun.

Hello,
The first season was not rife with great episodes, but I wouldn't choose Encounter at Farpoint over anything. It wasn't a particularly good episode, even if it establishes important story arcs.

Six - Wow, isn't Niki quite the CUNT? And, yes, I spell that in all caps....

They're both first season because they're screening the HD remasters. They haven't gotten to the rest of the seasons yet. Simple explanation.

Jeez, a little heavy on the consipracy theory, there. They went with first season episodes because they've only converted the first season to HD. The others will come along as they are completed.
Note to anyone - Please pity the poor, poor wittle Rappyboy. He's feeling put upon lately, what with all those facts disagreeing with what he believes.
