Venus is part Book, part Zoe (not just because they're all black) because I was thinking Johnny Fever for Wash and Venus is kind of his partner but he is also very spiritual.
But Johnny IS a doctor and Kaylee/Bailey has a crush on the doctor.
You'd have to give him a bit of Mr. Universe too for being in charge of the waves.
Who is the dumb, 'big guy' who wants to be in charge? Jayne/Carlson.
Totally agree with Sandy/Fillion, that's how I found this in the first place, seeing if anybody else noticed the similarity.
Can't agree with River/Nessman. Maybe Les and Herb are Fanty and Mingo.
The only thing I can think of for River is, she is the music. Firefly had a lot of good music but WKRP had a lot of stuff that would really move you; strong and beautiful and mysterious.
