Anyone need a ride from the Tampa area? We were just given a 15 passenger van for the price of the 12 we had rented and can fit a couple of extra bodies that don't want to drive. Post here is best or send me an e-mail realflygal@hotmail.com. I'll check tonight after work. We leave tomorrow (Thursday at noon and leave Atlanta Monday after the con closes (basically).

Well, it's taken me forever to get here, and this is my first post, but I wanted to say hey and that I too will be at Dragon*Con. I'm staff for the Buffy track this year so not sure how much extra fan stuff I'll be able to partake in, but I should be able to make the 8:30 gathering of Browncoats at the table on Friday even if I have to work through seeing our BDH at their panel that night, sob.

I'm going to do that brown armband thing, I think (just easiest for me to wear while I'm working), so if you come into the Buffy track room and see the long-haired gal at the pass/prize table wearing the brown armband, do come over and say hey even though this is my first post here...

I'm hoping to make at least one panel where our BDH will be talking, although of course you all know that Adam and Nathan are doing a Buffy/Angel panel on Sunday morning at 10:00 am, right?? I'll be working that one...

Anyway, hey all, see you there!

Last bump, don't forget Browncoats, fan "shindig" at Firefly table in Marriott at 8:30 after we see our BDHs!

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Here is my Dilemma:

I have not bought a Dragoncon ticket yet, and, in my research of the event, I hear long lines have often formed during ticket purchase, registration, etc. I would like to avoid that at all costs.....

I was wondering if anyone had advice concerning my best method for buying my ticket (the full 4 day pass). I do not have access to a printer, so I cant do the 'print your ticket on ticketmaster' thing.

Any other information would also be helpful.

Also, I am already in Atlanta, about 10 minutes from the Hotel...if that helps.

Thanks for your help!

I am no expert, first DC for me, but I do know that there will be pre-reg tonite. I plan on going over around 3ish tomorrow. From all the folks I have talked to, that seems like a safe time. I would go tonite, but I will be working late, ugh. I am just over walking distance away from the Con.

Also, you can(should be able to) still buy your ticket through Ticketmaster, the print ticket thing is just an added convenience. Again, I am no expert.

I have a thread of tips for surviving a convention on the Talk Story board for all Con newbies and first timers.

Con vets are welcome to add to the list.

I'll probably be lining up for my badge about 1 pm Friday--I printed the ticket from TicketMaster. A friend of mine who is on the con committee told me it might take an hour for me to get into the ballroom at that time. I h ope she was exaggerating!

I got my badge yesterday after paying through Ticketmaster. It turns out I did NOT have to stand in line. Ticketmaster purchases, if you printed out your own ticket, do not count as pre-registration. If you printed your Ticketmaster ticket, OR if you have not paid anything yet, ask a volunteer there where you go for ON-SITE REGISTRATION.

The BIG line is most likely pre-registration. The SMALLER line should be on-site registration. Find that one!

I can't wait for the Firefly panel, and I really look forward to seeing you guys at the Firefly table! I'll have my copy of the Full Metal Jacket soundtrack, looking for a autograph. LOL.
