Hello all

Just joined the forum.

Wanted to contribute by saying that I love this show.

I resisted at first given the way it was advertised here in the UK. It wasn't best presented and it took a friend to urge me to see it.

And I'm glad he did. I caught the show on a repeat and jumped in at The Train Job - a cracking episode! As soon as it was released on DVD, I bought it.

It's now my favourite of Joss' work and I was a huge fan of Buffy and Angel, but this show is quite superior.

Still a little non-plussed as to how it was discontinued :( But anyway Looking forward to the flick!

Go Joss ! Best of luck on your directorial debut.

Cheers

Greetings and welcome, senor somnambulist. Glad your friend was so wise as to force you to do what he/she knew was best for you. It sometimes takes a breakthrough show like Firefly to get people to harass each other.

Thanks to you both for the welcome...

Yeah I'm alittle peaved at the way Firefly was advertised here in UK. Usually I discover shows on my own, in my own way but it had such a lame sting; something to the likes of :

"From the makers OF Buffy the vampire slayer: comes Firefly"....Yadda yadda!

It really didn't sell it and from the clips it felt like y'know it might have been made by the Tea boys who worked on Buffy for all I knew! - plus it was only ever shown on the Sci-fi channel and I didn't have that at the time.

So I gots me excuses :)

But certainly glad at least one chum of mine made a point of calling me up to let me know I should watch it.

And since I've now converted three people, two of them women. I was so glad when one, said it was the best TV show she's ever watched because often women are put off the whole Sci-fi thing.

But it is such a great show that it penetrates that barrier that sci-fi shows often have.

Anyway cheers
