Just clicked the map to see if anyone was near me and the site is down or broken. I get a error message.

I just clicked on it and it worked for me. What errors are you getting? It does require that you allow Google Map to function on your computer.

Weird I just tried it again and now it works just fine. Maybe there was some snaffu at google map when I tried.

I see no issue with the map. I am unclear on how I can add myself to the map, though. Is it an automatic process when I log in enough times? Do I need to register somewhere?

ETA: I found myself! I was several miles from my actual location, so no worries.
