Ack?! Last minute costume help

I just realized that I still need to sew on brown vertical stripes for the trousers I have for my browncoats outfit.
Anyone have any suggestions to what the best kind of fabric to use and the best way to attach them be if sewing/glueing/stapling/taping etc
...man I so shouldn't have procrastinated !^_^

Here's what I would do: Go to a fabric store and get some brown ribbon (the least shiny you can find) and some "sewing glue" (I think the brand name is Sew Easy). Glue the ribbon to the pants. Voila! Let dry before you wear them, of course.

For the fastest and easiest way to do it I would get grosgrain ribbon (the kind that isn't shiny, but has horizontal ridges woven in it) and either fabric tack (clear fabric glue, comes in a small clear bottle) or iron-on fusible tape (I think the name is Stitch Witchery, something like that). You should be able to find both the ribbon and either way of attaching it in any craft/fabric store, or a Walmart. I have the feeling that the fusible tape would be the fastest, but I'm not sure as I don't often use either; I have more faith in a sewn seam. Hope this helps!
