Someone posted a link to the article about super-Earths awhile ago, but I'm too lazy to find it and ad this, so here's a new thread!

Isn't the surface temp of the newly discovered planet something like 1000+ Centigrade? Gonna need some mighty hardy cattle to get that ranch going... ;)

Well, look at its orbital period. 10 days!! This planet will be insanely hot and almost certainly tidally locked with its star. If it doesn't have an atmosphere, you can expect the sunny side to be cooked and the dark side to be frozen. If it has an atmosphere, you can expect both sides to be cooked.
