. . ."With The Hunger Games a box office hit and the highly anticipated second season
of Game of Thrones only a week away, it’s a good time to be a fan of powerful
female characters."

Great to see Zoe on the list, but how did they miss River Tam?

I'm guessing maybe because River was conditioned to be a warrior, but Zoe came to it on her own...which I'd still like the backstory on that, too.

Yeah but -- that'd be the same difference between Xena and Gabrielle, no?

they probably thought they could only include one person from Firefly, otherwise the list wouldn't look rounded, they figured they had Zoe and River and since Zoe's been a warrior longer and is more experienced they'd choose her.

Oi! Where are Ellen Ripley, Sarah Connor, Susan Ivanova, Leia Organa, Bo or Cally?!

>Leia Organa
Not really a warrior woman, there's no particular emphasis on her being strong or a soldier. More like a badass diplomat/princess. She's not even all that consistently an action girl, because she trades off being the damsel in distress with Han.

Your answer to some of these in the title and the article. Have you learned to read yet?

It says TV's Top 9 Warrior Women, not movies.
Ellen Ripley, Leia Organa and Sarah Connor (see below) are all movie characters, not TV characters.
As for Sarah Connor (from T:TSCC) and Susan Ivanova they are mentioned in the runners up section and a reason is given for them not being included. For Sarah Connor it's a lame excuse but it is there.
I don't know who Bo and Cally are from their names so I can't comment on them.
As for River not being mentioned they could have put her in with Zoe (like Xena and Gabrielle) but I'd go with the my opinion that River isn't a warrior. She is a someone who can fight, and fight extremely well when the time calls for it but she isn't a warrior. Kicking-ass isn't one of her first actions, she isn't confrontational by nature, she doesn't immediately reach for a gun/sword when a situation arises.
That, to me, is a perfectly valid reason not to be included in the list.

Gina should have been on there twice:
Warrior women coming up on Walking Dead and Game of Thrones:
Michonne
and Brienne
http://cliqueclack.com/tv/2012/02/29/game-of-throne-season-two-casting/
"First up is a big fan favorite, the Maid of Tarth herself, Brienne. This was the bit of casting that I had been most nervous about since the first time I read her description in Clash of Kings. She is apparently so ugly, they call her Brienne the Beauty out of spite. Exactly what actress on the planet would be willing to put this role on her CV? In Gwendolyn Christie, they found someone who fit the body style (read: tall and athletic), but is much prettier than Brienne has been described. Any doubt I had about accuracy, however, has been assuaged by the photos released by the Game of Thrones producers, included above. Bravo to the makeup team, because Brienne is … well … not exactly attractive."

That's pretty much what I had in mind to say but you've said it for me. Just being able to fight doesn't make someone a warrior, it's a whole mindset, I certainly don't consider River a 'Warrior Woman'.
I wouldn't consider Echo a warrior either, unless you count future Echo or some imprint or another.
