If you know where I'm going with this, bare with me:
The first season is out on DVD now, so I rented it out of amusement. I'm watching it with a friend, and it's PRETTY good (less attention to detail than on a Joss show) ... so I get the next disc, and next disc over a few days.
And then in the very last episode, there's this record store that looks really familiar. And I'm thinking, "Was I in that record store?"
And my friend is like, "Is that...?"
And I go, "What?"
And then I rewind, which is difficult to do on a DVD.
Not only is it f****** Jewel Staite, it's JEWEL STAITE F*******!!!!
"What the &*^$#&?!?!" I shouted. "Is this HAPPENING?!"
And my friend says, "You think THAT'S messed up, you should have seen her on that Nickelodeon show when she was like 15!"
And I said, "If I had seen THAT before I saw THIS, it woulda f*****' killed me!"
I still can't figure out how I've been coming to FFF.net for THIS long and totally missed all references to this. Jewel Staite is the coolest f****** person alive. A close second would be her husband. Punk.
Those of you who find the above ranting redundant, and have long ago seen the episode of "Dead Like Me" in question-- to you I say, THIS is why I can never ever go to a Firefly convention again.
Cuz I'll be the guy in the fifth row, screamin' "I'm a Reaper baby, I'm a F****** GRIM REAPER!!!"
I'm really emotional now, I can't talk. It's like my entire universe has been blown.

I was just as surprised as you when I rolled to the end of the DLM eps. Man, for a small role, she chewed up the scenery, so to speak. Gotta love them west coast girls.

If anybody's curious. Here is a link to an RPG version of the Reapers from Dead Like Me. Or at least inspired by DLM. I think its really interesting.

I've always thought it would make a great roleplaying game!

I thought I was the only person on this site who even knew what "Dead Like me" was. Funny thing, I found out about the show when I traded my friend my Firefly dvd for DLM. Still haven't gotten firefly back though...darn. But finally, other people know about this cool show.

I love Dead Like Me, my mom got me into it.
I watched the last epsiode of the first season and did not even realize that was Jewel until I went on a website that told me so and I was like "OMG! Really?! I had no idea!"

Yeah, it's the next day and I still can't get over it.
Now that I think about it, someone MIGHT have mentioned something about a Goth Girl here, but I really must have filed it in my brain under "Wonderfalls" or something. Totally surprised. About eighty degrees on beyond seeing Alan Tudyk in "28 Days."

"...About eighty degrees on beyond seeing Alan Tudyk in "28 Days."
Uhm, what? Just watched "28 Days" on cable the other night. Alan is in it? Where? How did I miss it?
My days of not takin' you seriously are certainly coming to a middle.

"28 Days" the Sandra Bullock movie, not to be confused with "28 Days Later" which is ... um, not.
Alan played zee German guy obsessed with whatever soap opera. I haven't seen it in a while, but yeah, that's him in glasses.
