Hi all,

Just wanted to give you all a heads up about my plan to make the beta site the main site for FIREFLYFANS.NET by April, which happens to be the 10th anniversary of this site. If you aren't using the Beta site now, I highly recommend that you do so that we can fix all the little annoying bugs that might have been missed.

As technology advances with hosting options like cloud hosting, social network integration, and other larger media sites wanting to include FIREFLYFANS.NET as a destination of choice for the Firefly fandom, I believe the new site will be better in the long run in serving the greater Browncoats community.

My goal for FIREFLYFANS.NET has always been to provide a place where fellow Firefly fans can hangout and share their enjoyment of the Firefly universe without much fanfare, and although the series has been on hiatus for the past few years, I remain steadfast in my belief that we here at FIREFLYFANS.NET will be able to greet Serenity as it takes flight again.

Dude, as always, you rock.
While I am perhaps more fond of the old site for nostalgia reasons, I really don't mind it either way so long as we're still in the air, heh.

Just please, please, don't never let them drag you into any of that shared-combined account rigamarole, I dumped my Youtube when they demanded I link it with a Google ID, panned Final Fantasy when they forcibly combined my FFXI and FF14 accounts into an all in one, and went berzerk on Blizzard when they went to an all in one that had a massive gaping exploit which allowed anyone to sit there and read logins - then flamed the users, meh.

Seems like these days every service wants to force folk to sign up for crap they don't want, usually in a far less secure bundled login which makes it convenient for scammers and spammers - special mention that Blizzards stupidity exposed the customers financial details as well when the all-in-one was compromised while a game account did not, bah.

Type Fireflyfans.net into the search box. It should come up with two different listings... Click on the other one...

It'll still be around, but the URL will likely be something like http://classic.fireflyfans.net or something shorter. I just need the Beta site to become the main site so that major sites that are linking to us uses the standard www instead of beta.
