Whedon: still hasn't given up on Firefly

So quit talking and get to work on it Joss, I thought the cast agreed to 3 movies! It's been 10 years, quit blaming FOX and try a reboot on Syfy! Just don't ask for to much money, they like their Sci-Fi cheap.

A completely useless answer, continuing your tradition of being wholly negative and calling it "rational" or "realistic." I'm all for rational and everything, but you tend to go beyond that. Realistic could easily be something along the lines of, "This is nice to hear. It's too bad that tangled legal issues and the decade spent in limbo make a comeback somewhat unlikely." But no. You can't ever be sensible without being belligerent, saying that Whedon has personally given up on the franchise and anyone who believes otherwise is delusional. I'm not confusing realistic with negative, because you are not being simply realistic, you are clearly using it as an excuse to be negative and insulting. And this is hardly the first time I've seen it; you do this every time anyone shows the least bit of excitement over a shout-out to Firefly, or an interview about Firefly, or speculation about whether another movie could get made. News flash: this is a site for fans, and little sparks of joy over such things is what we do. It's the same on any fansite. The only thing that makes this one unique is that we have the rare opportunity to squee over such things even though Firefly has been off the air for years. Very few shows that are no longer running get any attention at all, but if they did you could bet their fandom would talk about it. We're lucky. We get something to talk about on a fairly regular basis. It seems you have no desire to talk about it, only to dismiss it and insult anyone who doesn't follow your lead. I don't understand why you're on a fansite for a show you seem to have no affection for.

As have I. Not just negative, but antagonistic. The fact that it seems deliberate and unabashed but is followed with claims of innocence and "misunderstanding" makes such attitudes even more grating.

To answer the original question, yes of course I would like to see a ten-year anniversary. That would make me giddy. (Like just about everyone here, I don't expect it, but I would obviously like it.)

What reason had proved best ceased to look absurd to the eye, which shows how idle it is to think anything ridiculous except what is wrong.

It's quite simple. The thread title is misleading to the point of being cruel IMO. Joss basically said he moved on but if someone called him up to make more he wouldn't rule it out. So, instead of focus on the part where he's moved on to projects that are actually being made it focuses on the chance that some studio might come out of no where and ask for more TV or a movie. Added to the fact that every thread like this has presented false hope for going on 8 years now.

I honestly have no idea why you get so worked up about it. There was nothing insulting in what I said. If anything you jumped into the thread looking for a fight.

Implying I'm not a fan is plain silly. If you feel the need to be dismissive of others go right ahead. You're welcome to your opinion. Just as much as I'm welcome to disagree with it.
