Traveler, we have this little donut shop near me called Annie's Donuts, they're the best donuts I know of and sometimes my mom and my little bro bring them home after school, its on the way from his school so they stop there sometimes for a treat and bring me one too.

I hate unreliability, if someone says they'll be there and aren't, I have a very low opinion of them unless there's a really good excuse. When companies do it its a good oppertunity to know not to use them again. I think reviewing them negatively makes sense to warn others.

Potentially. They at least opened the door for the story to finally move forward, so here's hoping it does.
I have some idea of why they've been drawing it out (other than money) and a tie-in theory on who the Mother is. Still, I want to see it happen already. (And hope I'm right about what this is leading up to, because otherwise they've just been dicking around and drawing things out because they don't know what else to do.)

They do have HIMYM online. Watched it last night. It was a much better episode that's for sure. I'm glad they resolved that storyline in one fell swoop rather than dragging it out the rest of the season. I feel like the focus is going to be on Barney the rest of this season.

So, Rionaeire what's your theory? I'm betting on a theory I read online somewhere. It makes almost too much sense. Though now I hope it's wrong cause it would kinda stink to know the answer already.

Zeek- I pretty much try my best to switch companies and I check online to see if they have customer surveys and such and let them know what my experience was.
Also in small companies case, I fill out a BBB complaint.

Yes I think HIMYM really redeemed themselves. I was so worried we'd go there again, but it seems we're doing the how Barney meets the person he marries so Ted can meet his wife at the wedding...YAY

BTW- NV's theory is that Barney IS the mother and had a sex change and married Ted and they adopted..

I'll assume this is directed at me.

We know that Ted meets the Mother at Barney's wedding, so all the drama and tension with Barney and Robin has been to delay the moment when they get married. (I think there were more reasonable ways to do that, but I won't digress.)
So, Barney's wedding, which I totally believe will be to Robin, is where we meet the Mother. Now, here's the interesting thing; Ted consistently refers to Barney and Robin as "Uncle Barney and Aunt Robin" to his kids. I didn't think too much of it for awhile, but then I started to think it's literal and not just because they're good friends. Barney has a half sister, Carly, who has been named but never seen. All we know about Carley is that she's in college, and one of the things we know about the Mother is that she attended the college Ted teaches at. Surely, Carly would be at her brother's wedding. It all comes together in a neat little package: Carly is the Mother. (Or the writers are stumbling around blind, which I will find disappointing.)
I'm not the only one to have this thought. Once I started thinking the Aunt and Uncle thing might be literal, I found a lot of people talking about Barney's sister possibly being the Mother.

lol yep that should have been directed at you. Got the posts mixed up. Also that's the theory I've heard before and agree it sounds really plausible. The only thing is I think that future Ted has used the Aunt Lily and Uncle Marshal monickers as well.

I just kinda hope that isn't how it goes because it's like the surprise got ruined.

This is true, but he seems to use them less for Lily and Marshal. I was really struck lately by how often he talked about "Aunt Robin and Uncle Barney."
Who knows, though, maybe it's Lily's sister. (Does Lily have a sister?)

I don't think it would be like a surprise getting ruined. Rather, I think it would indicate great planning on the part of the writers.

Well we've semi met the mother before though. She's roommates with Rachel Bilson's character. Ted catches a glimpse of her ankle. Later Rachel's character meets up with Ted at a bar. Barney is there. Wouldn't he have noticed and said something if he saw his sister's roommate with Ted? Also we know she was in the economics 310 class Ted accidentally taught for 20 minutes. Is Barney's sister old enough to be a senior in college 2 seasons( years) ago?

Still it's a really interesting theory and it would be nice to think that Barney and Robin got to have nieces and nephews ( well actually if they get married they already have one nephew)

As far as I know Barney has never met his half sister. I mean he just started to get to know his Dad's family. So, I think Ted will be meeting her around the same time Barney does at the wedding.

Zeek's right, Barney hasn't met Carly yet. When Barney found out his "Uncle Jerry" was his dad and they spent some time together, Jerry mentions that he has a daughter in college, but we don't meet her. Barney probably wouldn't even recognize her if he just saw her on the street, and he certainly wouldn't know her roommate. (Actually, at that point in time I don't think he even knew he had a sister, I forget exactly where that meetup with Rachel falls in the timeline.)
