So, who saw HIMYM this week?

Spoilers!

Select to view spoiler:

I'm sure I'm partially to blame here, but really do they have to use shock tactics to have any impact with an episode these days. OMG Robin's getting married. OMG Ted said he loves her. OMG Barney's interested in a stripper. It really shouldn't be the only tool in their arsenal. Now I know that previous times they've shocked the audience it has gone over well, but they're using it too much now. These shocks weren't particularly good either.

If Ted starts dating Robin again the whole thing is just going to be such a huge disaster. The show is already going no where but going backwards is worse. We all know Robin isn't the mother. Let's not rehash the same disastrous relationship. jeez

Sadly Barney's chick seemed interesting initially. A girl who was finally strong enough and smart enough to stand up to Barney and put him on defense. That could have gone somewhere, but then having to throw in the twist that she's a stripper ruined it. It's like when they decided to make Zoey a married woman. They need to back off of these twists and just have characters who stand on their own merits.

Aww sorry about the strawberries... but hey if you check your local chocolatier I'm betting they'll have a huge sale on chocolate strawberries right now.

HIMYM- yeah getting sick of this. Quit trying to make it soap opera like and just tell a funny story. Though actually I do think the Barney and the stripper has potential.

Zeke, what's wrong with Zoe being married? I think it makes her a more rounded charactor, that she has layers andis more than one thing.

Zoey from HIMYM to be clear not Zoe from Firefly. The Zoey on HIMYM was a love interest for Ted which is just wrong when she's married. Even if she's in a fairly dull marriage. Plus we spend a ton of episodes just waiting for the marriage to inevitably end. It's a dumb twist and it makes both characters seem like jerks. Mainly because we also know she's not the mother and their relationship is doomed as well. Watching and waiting out two doomed relationships was just painfully bland. At least when they pull the married to the wrong person thing in romantic comedies they usually end in favor of a better, happily ever after type relationship.

Wow, why did I think you were talking about Zoe from Firefly, when your post was about your other show there? That was stupid of me, sorry for the pointless interuption.

Zeek- That's it. You'll just have to become a writer for HIMYM in your spare time:)

No problems. I was pretty sure from the content of your post that you were talking about Firefly Zoe. I mean who could like the HIMYM character?

I want to talk about donuts. Donuts are God's way of telling us he loves us. He has other ways, but donuts are my favorite.

That they are... we got donuts on our trip to Reno on Saturday. As of this morning 2 were left. It's amazing how many reasons you can find to reward yourself with donuts.

Zeek- So what did you think about HIMYM?? I feel they redeemed themselves:)

Haven't seen it yet. Do they show it online? I'm now living in the house, but my DVR hasn't made the transition yet. Gotta get the satellite dish moved over.

Speaking of which it was the weekend of missed appointments. Carpet cleaners were supposed to show up at 10am. Never showed at all and didn't answer the phone or return messages. Even now I've never found out what happened to them. Direct TV guy was supposed to show up from 8am - noon and finally got there at 7:30pm. Luckily that wasn't an issue for me but wow.

I guess we can do a mini-ponder on that. How do you react when a company does not follow through on their promises? I mean it's not like there's any guarantee they'll show up. I couldn't sue. I could basically just yell and be angry. That doesn't help me. So, I just basically let it go. Though I'm thinking of putting up a yelp review of the carpet cleaner. That's just so unprofessional.
