Firefly Technology - not that far away?

I remember reading this several months ago and, at the time, going 'just like in Firefly!' I didn't think to share at the time, though, and as I'm rewatching Serenity, the bit where Badger holds up the electronic bulletin with moving text reminded me. Thus, I hunted it out on the off chance you all might be interested. ;)

Paper is Dead

Scientists Johan Feenstra and Rob Hayes think they've figured out how a process called electrowetting can make paper that can do anything a videoscreen does. So far, though, all they've got to show for their efforts is a tiny piece of e-paper one centimeter square—only 225 pixels, or picture elements.
