It is if you're doing it right.
Got a new toy for myself. It's a Korg Monotron. Which is to say that it's an ickle analog synthesizer. Not the most flexible instrument of it's kind but it only has six controls so it's easier to figure out than a full sized synth. Wonderful 50s scifi movie noises ahoy! It's tiny so it fits in your hand too. This would be fun to have at parties. If I ever went to parties.

A very long time ago when electronic instruments were a new and wacky thing a man named Moog invented an instrument he called a synthesizer. These synthesizers utilized amplitude modulation to create otherworldly sounds. These circuits were of a non programmable sort hence analog as opposed to digital. In the seventies and more especially the eighties musicians had started using synthesizers to emulate natural instruments which lead to the indroduction of frequency modulation synthesizers. Those synthesizers did a better job of sounding like natural instruments but weren't as good at the spacy things that the old AM synths were which accelerated the artistic sterilization of synth pop.
Wavetable synthesis, which used samples of natural instruments accelerated that process and could be seen as the nadir of electronica. Thankfully however computer power has now expanded to the point that it is possible to emulate the old AM synth circuits digitally. I have one of those and it's fairly awesome but I've always wanted an actual dyed in the wool AM synth. The problem being that they are expensive. But then there is this tiny little bare bones synth that I just found, a toy really, but it's got all the spacey unstable classic synth sounds I crave.
Didi I just confuse you more? Watch some keyboard cat

Head down to your local rescue shelter. I'm sure there is a kitten right for you there.
And yeah that is a cat that is surprisingly ok with being in a shirt and having his paws moved about.

I've got the Raiders of the Lost Arc theme stuck in my head. But not just the theme it turns out you can sing Humpty Dumpty to it.
Humpty Dumpty
Sat on a wall
Humpty Dumpty
Had a great fall-all-all
All the kings horses
And all the kings me-en
Could'nt put Humpty
Together again

So sorry to hear about life suckage. I'd lend you one of our cats but my sister would miss it. Unless it's the cat that would really miss her. (Calypso is a very clingy cat) in the meantime here is cheezburger cats http://icanhascheezburger.com/
