I'm trying to figure out a good companion-related quote...did Inara or anyone else ever have some kind of pithy one-line commentary about being a companion? Sumthin' that'd look good on a tee-shirt, perhaps?

Trying my hand at some "safer" designs that won't get immediately bumped from CP or Zazzle...

"We gotta go to that crappy town where I'M a hero..."

Inara "A Companion does not kiss and tell"
Mal "So there is kissing involved?"
(Check Out of Gas for exact quote)

Kaylee: Wash, tell me I'm pretty
Wash: Were I unwed I would take you in a manly fashion
Kaylee: 'Cause I'm pretty?
Wash: 'Cause you're pretty

"It was the dulcimer"
Nandi from "Heart of Gold"

My favorite line from Inara "One of the virtues of not being
puritanical about sex is not being embarrassed afterwards. You should look into it."

"I prefer something with a few miles on it." - Out of Gas

Inara says something like "What did I tell you about coming into my shuttle?"
Mal: "That is was manly and impulsive?"
Inara: "Yes, precisely. Only the exact phrase I used was 'don't'." -- The Train Job

"If you're being a gentleman I may die of shock." -- The Train Job

"Believe me, I've called him worse." -- Serenity

And now I have to watch Heart of Gold and Shindig.

"Is there any way I'm gonna get out of this with honor and dignity?"

I forget the episode where Mal asks, "How's business?" and Inara replies, "None of yours."

Now I have to watch the whole thing to find the episode name. What a chore.

^that episode was Serenity, so you don't have to watch the entire series.

I like the part just before this even better ... Jayne has said she must have some funny Companion stories to tell, and she says something like:

Yes, funny *and* sexy, but you'll never hear them. (It's the look on Jayne's face as she slaps him down that makes this line priceless).

Cheers,

Ok, I'm getting some good ones, and now I need what Book said to Kaylee about "been out of the world awhile, guess I'd like to walk it some"...is that correct? I don't have time to sit and watch the episodes right now, so I'll bug you people with better memories than I...
